Nanorisk Clearly you’ve never heard the word Antidisestablishmentarianism before. Perfectly understandable with zero effort needed. And if you believe that, I’ve got a great Beachfront property in the Sahara Desert to sell you.

@@sirapple589 I know that word, it is an ideology to stop the separation bewteen the British goverment and a variant of Jesus religion which I never bothered to differenciate. It is still difficult to pronounce correctly, hence falling apart.

Nanorisk My reply was sarcastic, you seem to have missed that. Antidisestablishmentarianism is very obviously a word that is difficult to decipher even for native English speakers. It’s so complex that it falls apart halfway through the word. It is very much a mess of a word.

So, it's been two years and a half, so I think it can be interesting to see where the WR is and how is the run and the route now. LilAggy's record: 21:50. Current WR by Mitchriz: 19:28. This is a list of things that changed during this period to save time: -Patch 1.06. -No subtitles: So basically, someone discovered that if you have no subtitles on, you can skip a lot of dialogue directly without having to spam X to skip it. Not a big save in Shura, but in other endings it was a huge discovery. -Double canyon skip: Instead of just doing the last jump, with the icecicles, now there's a previous jump befere, where you skip all the running in the right cave and the snake. This is considered one of the most difficult skips in the game. -Gyobu and route to bull: So, it turns out you don't have to wait in the roof for Gyobu to fall to his death, you can go directly to the bull fight, and he will fall anyways. Also now the route is going close to the left, cause there'rs two Ako sugars (more damage). The bull skip is patched if you go to the right, but if you jump to the left of the tree, you can still do it. -Lone shadow: You can use one of the Ako sugars to make it faster. Also, you can hit him off angle and he won't block you, making the fight not only faster, but safer (no parries needed) -Snake eyes: the same fight, but using the other Ako to make it faster. Also, there's no need to kill the first sniper, cause if you look at him during the fight with snake eyes, for some reason he doesn't fully see you (Yellow marker, no red). -Mibu village: everything the same, except you take a divine confeti in one of the houses at the end. (Here is where the route completely changed) -Genichiro fight: After killing the monk, you go to the Ashina castle to fight Genichiro. Turns out it was discovered a skip (front dojo skip) that is faster than swiming your way up to the fight. Also using the divine confeti makes the door cheese faster (divine confeti makes attacks deal more damage to vitality) and doing the fight now saves one fast travel. -Lotus of the palace: Same route, same skips with the airswim. -Monkeys: Now you can skip them! They fixed the going directly to the arena skip, but there's a point in the branch where you can go to the roof, and fall through the wall. When falling, you suddenly appear in the Inner Sanctum where you can talk to the girl and receive the mortal blade. -The end of the run is roughly the same, nothing really changed here. And that's more or less it. Those are the important changes that helped save almost two and a half minutes.

these speedrun explanations are fantastic man, and surely bringing speedrunning to many more people's attention in a much more easily understandable/inviting way. Great job!
Tomato's commentary on the Sekiro AGDQ run and bringing a prop to explain something for 3 minutes that saves 45seconds in Fallout Anthology is why he was the best part of AGDQ 2020. I hope they let you come back often, especially as a couch boi, despite their anus discrimination. Tomato is the speedrun explanation king.

It's quite useful to watch speedrun explanation videos as a game dev, because you get to observe some techniques used to build the game, as well as player tendencies and the like.
Man this quick run through most of the game makes me appreciate even more how everything is connected the way it is. Insane how they managed to do that. EDIT: Also Lmao, that monk kill was amazing.

I actually fkin LOVE this series you're doing. We need to go buy some merch as encouragement.
Amazing work dude/s!
Nice, i love this game. Hope you do more of the soulsborne games.
Hey what great timing. Just started replaying this.
i know you probably wont see this, but the "jump off of thin air" trick is also a form of what is called "coyote time", named from the wile e coyote "dont fall until you look down" recurring joke. it allows you in some platformers to jump moments after jumping off of ledges as a cathartic "last minute jump" feeling. its quite common in a lot of games.

So cathartic to see those bosses get violated like that
It's actually pronounced Junty Joe, not Genichiro.
Hey tomatoanus, would you ever consider doing a video about the Metroid Prime any% speedrun? I personally find it quite interesting
It’s crazy that I’ve seen Aggy run this so many times for a 19:50 that he got, seeing this time is crazy and feels slightly slower haha
The fact that there was no reason to discuss combat until more than 7 minutes in tells me that I am obviously playing Sekiro COMPLETELY wrong.
Nice
Tomatoanus has a very good narrating voice
its like perfect button mashing technique, yet so much more

I just want a T-shirt with TOMATOANUS, all caps, huge font written on the front.
"Illegal according to the 8th Amendment" gave me a hearty kek

nice
All I’m saying is that I’ve never seen tomato angus and casually explained in the same room at the same time.
Confusing, yet highly intriguing😷
