im trying to speedrun myself (horribly) a few questions. The angled jumping/bhopping, whats the reason behind it? Obviously youre getting lots of speed from it but im not sure exactly why it works or how to replicate consistently, are you rebinding jump to like mousewh or something? And is there any tricks behind the trampoline cuts to create consistency with it? Ive managed to do a skull skip at the start pretty often and I think its based on your cameras positioning more than anything. Would love to know some of the logic behind speedrunning this cheers bro and congrats on sub 50

In many games when you push in a direction you get speed 1x. Sometimes going diagonally will add them together, since each direction is an additional 1x, giving you 2x faster speed. Even when developers try to fix this, it can still be faster to go two directions at once, aka diagonally.

Thanks ! like someone said if you go diagonally you will go faster, and i am playing with spacebar most of the time, but you can bind the scroll wheel down with : X mouse Button Controler. It's allowed in speedrun and you can bhop with the scroll if you want to, but i prefere with spacebar. Trampoline cuts are easier if your fps are between 60-100 fps, if you are too high they are way harder ! Learn how to strafe correctly and you will see many jumps will be easier for you i think.

il faut faire des "strafes" en l'air, c'est une mécanique venant de counter strike à la base, tu peux trouver des tutoriels sur youtube normalement, là l'idée c'est d'aller dans une direction de côté un peu et de bouger la souris dans cette direction également pour gagner de la distance

je bhop avec espace la majorité du temps, y'a que pour 1 cut où je l'ai fait à la molette sur cette run ! tu peux bind la molette avec un logiciel externe qui s'appelle X mouse Button Controler stv, y'a un tutoriel disponible sur le serveur discord speedrun de ce jeu

If the goal is to put up a fast time you'd never fall into the lava. If you fall you restart in any mode.

No, you can only when you are 2, 3 or 4. you can't do it solo (in solo it doesn't give you much heights)

possibly the jump is much easier to do at 60 fps as the timing is more forgiving. lots of games have "bugs" liek that. One that comes to mind is supergliding in apex legends. The lower the fps the easier it is
