Hi thanks for your interest. 1. The glider I used to fly is on loan to test and therefore I don't know it well. 2. It's the second time I fly to this place in my life. 2. I had been flying all day in the mountains and tiredness made itself felt... and maybe it also influenced the final decision. 3. At times there began to be a lot of descending air and turbulence but we decided to fly anyway (the flight could have been done without problems if I kept a greater safety distance especially before the trees started.) Before the fall there are some houses, I wanted to pass between two houses but I began to feel the air lowering me and I passed by the side. Then you see that I start to pull the rear risers to get up and fly over the trees but it doesn't get up and so I attempted the maneuver between the trees.

@@kris_theadventurer It must have been very scary. I didn't see you tried to get height i though the passage between the trees was part of your line ! I am a paraglider pilot, not a speedflyer. Almost anytime we have an incident or an accident, a mistake of ours is at stake. You describe them well, and i think it is the good way to keep on flying safe. The 4 mistakes can be put in 3 categories : Meteorology (turbulences/ descending air) / Mental, state of mind (tiredness) / Equipment (unusual glider). I put it there because I noticed that accidents are often the combination of these, to which i would add the experience of the site and his conditions. I had an incidents in a site near home, of which i wasn't very used to, and which was known to have some big fast change in aerology. The wind went in (meteorology), i didnt know what was happening (experience) i was frightened and mentally blocked (mental). Fortunately i had a beginer equipment, with airbag (equipment) which saved my back. I recoiled onto the take off and crashed into cars up there. Finally I was all okay. I hope you will fly again, get back to it soon and progressive. Fly saafe ! Tx for sharing

@@michaelbigelow3255 Everybody can make mistakes, be it flying big wings or small wings. And sometimes it's not about mistakes at all. In the limited time I have been skydiving/paragliding/speedflying, I have seen deadly accidents and serious injuries in all of these disciplines. Most of them during paragliding, so don't think you are invincible when you're flying a large wing.

How did you record it? Like where did you have your camera standing?
Glad you were safe-ish at least, hope you were just insulted instead of injured. Nice terrain for crashing compared to a lot of videos. It can be hard to judge the distance to those wing tips! What a lovely flight. Thank you for sharing the fail video, too. It can be hard on the ego, but you really could save lives by getting people thinking before they did this to themselves, in potentially much worse terrain.
It seems that at the speed and height you were flying that couldve been much worse. Its still really cool to watch you flying that fast down the mountain. Glad youre alright and stay safe!
Dangerous flying in the first instance! Too low at times! Serves you right!
Damn, that was a close one! I thing that’s actually the “best” crash you could have had! I bet you just had a few scratches and a back pain! Blue skies buddy :)
must have felt much worse in the moment, on video it almost looks smooth haha. Glad you are ok. There are always people saying stuff like "why would a sane person jump out of a working plane" etc. when it comes to skydiving. As someone who skydivers seeing this makes me have a similar reaction haha. I understand why you are doing it, it must be an insane feeling, but at the same time the margin for error is just way to low for me, my balls are about 90% too small for this. I want to get into paramotoring, but in my country I must log 50h paragliding first, and I am not sure if I am willing to do that, it makes perfect sense to learn the unpowered side first and treat the motor as an added bonus, but paragliding makes me super nervous for some reason.
Cruising for a bruising there. All pilot error. Thanks for sharing so I know not what to do.
Can we at least applaud the dedication of the cameraman to follow him through so expertly as he crashed? Hope they are both OK.

Was that an auto-tracking drone filming?
I fly paragliders, and are only close to the ground two times every flight. And those two times are carefully planned and executed with ample time. And still they are the most dangerous part of my flights! So in an air sport where the whole point is to fly as close to the ground as possible all the time at high speed, you are bound to misjudge or be surprised of the terrain more often. In fact I am baffled there are not more serious accidents in speedflying.
Wow! I’m glad you’re ok. You had excellent reaction time but it wasn’t enough. I’m glad you were able to at least get down in a clearing and somewhat safely. I hope this doesn’t discourage you. Excellent video!

He got too close to the tree, which grabbed his left risers and partially deflated the left side of the canopy. It wasn't so much the height he was flying at, but his lack of situational awareness as to where his canopy was in relation to the tree.
That was the coolest and scariest thing I have ever seen!! 😮😱😏👍
Pfiou.....What a luck ! Incident can become dramatic if floor is stone !!!! Burn a candle...... Thanks for posting !
Great video, you dodged a bullet on that one. keep the shiny side up.
Now let's see some of the wing suit flyer's high speed crashes! You always hear about them crashing but you never see it.
The causes of the accident is obvious. Pilot failed to adjust position of hood on his jacket, so that it doesn't cause excessive aerodynamic drag. This led to lower than usual flying altitude, for which pilot was also not prepared.
Honestly I thought you would have slid a lot further! Pretty much the best crash you could ask for!!!
That looks like a lot of fun and a huge thrill, but if I were one of those homeowners I wouldn't like people flying through my yard at such close proximity to my house.

I used to fly kites a lot. When you fly a kite it is obvious that the air near the ground has vortices and turbulence due to the terrain. So if you keep doing speedflying near the ground every once in a while you will stall the wing and lose lift, then probably impact the ground. Have a nice day.

That's very interesting landing. It looks to be kind of soft compared to the stones. Somehow I expected Pee-wee Herman to jump up and say I meant to do that.
autsch... hoffentlich nichts gebrochen? sehr cooles Video, speedflying muss ich auch probieren...
C'est pas un peu dangereux de voler aussi bas ?? Quid des obstacles, des fils électriques, des arbres, des maisons ??☹☹
Could you land on the slope? Or do you have to go to the bottom?
If you walked away unscathed then lesson learned and be more wary how close trees are next time. Good run otherwise. No harm done ; )
How do you check for cables and lines before a flight?
@kris_theadventurer
3 ай бұрын
Hi, first we check the flight map of the area, which also indicates obstacles for the flight such as cables and others. Then, we always do some calm reconnaissance flights, maintaining a generous safety altitude to check the flight path we have planned.

Hi and thanks! :) Sorry if I answer you only now. I advise you to start with a "normal" paraglider and go with someone who already knows how to fly! To let you understand: Here in Switzerland there is a theory exam (5 subjects: flying practice - meteorology - aerodynamics - material knowledge - legislation including knowledge of airspaces) and a practical exam (max 3 flights with 2 flight exercises to be performed with the stopwatch that you have time limits). Also, on landing we have a circle 30 meters in diameter that you have to hit. This is to make you understand how prepared a paraglider licensed in Switzerland is. Then the experience makes a lot! But without this knowledge you increase the risk of bad flight experiences.
Ow man, that must've sucked, hope you are alright.
its like playing with a bike on a mountain road.. only a bike can be faster
Talk about breaking air law, ( the 500ft rule)
How did you come to the conclusion that it would be a great idea to only include the slow-motion?!
This is what happens when you get too cocky and fly too close to the ground, buzzing people at low level.... someone will get hurt eventually.
