As Boris Herrmann said: comfort is speed. Very good documentary!
Thank you Nail.... Very good Impression of the hard life on a Imoca. 👍
Taking care of the crew…Niall reports are so interesting! Sam D.’s shock-absorbing offshore powerboat seat with springggggg etc. beautiful Spain.
This remains the best channel on youtube
REALLY good edits! Thank you :)
Nice to get insight into these developments; and poor Sam getting his rig knocked down today in the Atlantic
Noise, sleep, eating, bounching/slamming/stopping/jarring, bowel movements, temperature changes, work height ergonomics.
It’s not only the comfort of crew - it’s also “comfort” of the boat itself. The Vendee Globe always had spectacular failure, but those were individual disasters which did not endanger the race as such, because there were a lot of boats in the race. For The Ocean Race this isn’t necessarlly true: With 6-7 boats, the drop-out rate as we have seen in the last edition puts it at the border of irrelevance as a race. And this rate may increase if we look at the damage in the current IMOCA races. Not for nothing the VOR moved to the “bullet-proof” VO65 after the experience made with the first generation VO70.
Respect to these sailors. These boats are violent.

How does anyone NOT hit things all the time crawling through those tight little spaces?!?
Cool video, am always learning something new. Thank you so much for it. Looking forward to more ocean races and Niall's commentaries.
Niall can you stop scaring my mum please 🙏🏼
Thanks for the update, when is the next race. It's important for the algorithm to keep the videos coming. Even if the quality is Lowish
That 20 secs : with I will Survive... reality show clip of sailing :)
Somehow I was unsubscribed from the channel and I missed the last few videos. Glad this one popped up as a recommendation. You might want to remind your viewers to check their subscriptions, and, as always, to like and subscribe to these excellent productions.

😂 good one!
🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂 👍👍👍👍👍👍
Not quite sure the point of the video but even more the timing of this video: The editing is terrible and the content misses many historical events but imagine the Vendée Globe releasing such videos during the Globe challenge… Just create unnecessary competition and confusion, until at some point you saturate the public that run away from following offshore sailing!

So you run away from premier league football only because there is Champions League going on? What is the “competition” of different sail races? If you haven’t got the point of the video that’s your problem, though.

@@alexandermenck6609 i think it is very different as most of the offshore sailing takes place out of sight of the public, compared to ball games (football, soccer, basket, baseball, golf…). Hence narrative and how it is forwarded is key. Most of the public do not understand basic sailing, meteorological strategies even less. Hence rooting about one event while another takes place creates cannibalization in my eyes.
