    how can I get it from the Jul thermal pads on the device

  • @koolingmonster

    @koolingmonster

    Жыл бұрын

    Hi, do you mean how to apply thermal pads to CPU/GPU? Normally, we’d recommend thermal paste to be used on CPU/GPU applications instead of thermal pads. That's because CPU/GPU produce a lot of heat under heavy load, and thermal paste’s heat transferability is much better.

    Maybe now is a great time to change your thermal paste! Try to follow our tutorial and do it your self! You can get our products using the links in the description. However we do not recommend changing thermal paste solely based on how old the laptop is. What you use the laptop for and the thermal paste it came with can also affect this decision. The better way is to check CPU or GPU temperatures. You can check out these two videos to help you make up your mind! Hey i have a question the the pink paste around the cpu and gpu. Should i change that too or use the existing one. If i need to change what should i apply there ? I have seen forms that thermal paste instead of the pink paste might be a issue. I have the same laptop and the fans are clogged and planning to fix that. Can you please help me with that !!!

    Dont change the pink paste! It's for the VRAM.

  • @koolingmonster

    @koolingmonster

    Hello! The pink thermal paste around the CPU and GPU can be replaced. The surrounding chips don't generate much heat, so manufacturers often use thermal putty or thermal pads to save costs. Thermal paste generally has better thermal conductivity than these materials, so it should be fine for cooling. Some people say not to use thermal paste because regular thermal pastes are too runny and their flowability and viscosity are not specially optimized. The gaps between the small chips and the heatsink are too large, causing the paste to flow away easily. Therefore, it's important to use high-quality thermal paste. If you want to replace those materials with thermal paste, we recommend using our KOLD-01 thermal paste. Its flowability and viscosity are specially optimized to avoid this issue.

    Hi, we are glad to know that the tutorial is helpful to you! The small chips near the CPU and GPU do not generate much heat, so thermal putty/thermal pads (the pink ones) with inferior heat transferability are used on them. If these putty have dried out, it is recommended to replace them with the thermal paste. If not, we can keep them on the heatsink/motherboard. When this particular laptop was disassembled, these thermal putty had not degraded so we did not replace it. Since these chips do not generate much heat, the overall impact will not be very different. However, if you want to replace them with thermal paste, we recommend choosing the 2.1ml KOLD-01 thermal paste and the individual set (20 packs) of KLEAN-01 thermal paste cleaning wipes to ensure that you have enough paste and wipes.

  • @goorthiss

    @goorthiss

    @JohnSep666 Under no circumstances do not replace the pink thermal putty with paste. You can replace but with, for example Upsiren UX Pro, EVGA putty, Laird 607, K5 Pro, which are designed for this purpose.

  • @koolingmonster

    @koolingmonster

    @@goorthiss Thank you for your reply! It is very okay to replace thermal pad and thermal putty with thermal paste. While it is perfectly fine to keep using thermal pads or thermal putties, thermal paste is better at dissipating heat. Thermal putties/pads are used in laptops because they are cheaper, and they can fill in gaps between chips and heatsink that normal watery thermal paste cannot. More premium thermal paste such as Kooling Monster's KOLD-01 has special focus on fluid mechanics, therefore is not watery like cheap thermal pastes and can substitute the thermal putties/pads.

    Hello, if it's wet thermal paste, you can wipe it off with wet wipes, alcohol, isopropyl alcohol, etc. However, for dried and hardened thermal paste, often regular methods won't work. In such cases, you can use our specialized KLEAN-01 thermal paste cleaning wipes, which have been tested to perfectly clean over 25 different types of completely dried and hardened thermal paste.
