Speed Testing All 3 Networks at CVG (Verzion, AT&T, and T-Mobile)

Had to go Cincinnati airport in early November. Tested out all the carriers and saw really good performance in every one!
I apologize for the lack of content lately. Have been busy preparing for the holidays! I will try to push a few more videos and a livestream out before the end of the year! If not, then very early next year.
If you read this far Happy Holidays to everyone! Thank you for helping me grow my channel this year and I hope it grows even more in 2024!

I agree! I would hope it translates to inside the airport cause the tower is about a half mile or more away. If this is the serving cell. I’m sure Verizon probably has mmWave inside and I would hope the other carriers have an indoor DAS.

I wonder why ATT ping is so high, but their speeds are good

I noticed on AT&T when it just says 5G then I do a Speedtest 5G+ pops up then I do another speed test and the ping gets better!

That seems to be AT&T in all of Ohio. Sometimes Verizon has slightly higher pings and T-Mobile can get iffy and have pings in the hundreds. But AT&T seems to always have like 50 or higher pings and 20 or higher jitter. It could be also AT&T servers are so far from me. Because the other two carriers have servers with Ookla in Cincinnati. And AT&T I think the nearest is Akron.

Before running a speed test your phone goes on a lower frequency band like 5G or LTE (aka NOT 5G+ or 5GUW) to save battery life. Being on these ultra wideband spectrums sucks up a lot of battery. Only once you start using your phone for data will the higher frequency bands turn on.

Dang that’s good. They definitely got it configured well at that airport. I didn’t get to test in the airport cause I wasn’t flying, just picking up someone. I could imagine it’s not that well inside. Because of how the airport is setup and if this tower is serving the airport it’s a good half mile plus away. So I would hope you get at least decent performance inside or they have a DAS.

I haven't flown in a while. Actually it was in the area near the airport but I don't know about the airport itself. @@SWOhioSpeedtesting
