Has anyone else figured out what is so pleasant about watching this event? No hot air commentators from the TV feed - just the athletes and the sport - refreshing
i’m really impressed at this sport actually

Japan could've won if they'd all kicked their skates forward at the line.
The fact that the US lost despite 2 of the Germans pretty much giving up while waiting for their teammate to catch up, shows just how much Germany outclassed the US in that event.
22:10 USA vs CAN. such a good battle!!!

What is that plastic looking stuff around the skaters mid section of their uniforms? What does that do for the skater? Is it similar to sports tape? Some kind of compression mechanic on the muscles?

Why are there four German Skaters and only three on the other teams?
@ceegeelmusicals2295
4 жыл бұрын
Adam Menzies A lot of the teams have 4 skaters who alternate based on the other races they just had individually or have upcoming, as well as their personal strengths. Or sometimes there is just a spare in case of injury. But I believe you can’t win an Olympic medal unless you skated in the quarterfinals, semis, or finals even if you trained with team and were on the bench for those races.
Why there are 4 German women and other teams had three?
멋집니다! Germany!

Really nice to hear the most beautiful national anthem for Japan🇯🇵 in South Korea. Feel so GREAT. Congrats Japan ❤️ 🇯🇵 ❤️
1) Why are they starting in different positions? 2) Are they not wearing any socks? Do socks really stop that much "wind"? lol 3) Do they get a lot of problems with their backs from being in that position so often?
@AConnorDN38416
3 жыл бұрын
professional speed skaters don't wear socks because they wear skates that have been custom molded to perfectly fit their bare feet. Socks dampen the precision of control you get between your foot and the ice. Yes, skating in this position is killer on your back so it's important to do lots of training to build your core muscles to support your back and do lots of stretching.

I would think that Canadians have learned to translate from one colonial idiom to anther after years of this non stop babble in both languages. why not just alternate fr. and en. every other heat? or toss in some actual First Nation dialects into the mix of invaders for actual fairness. what audio crapola.
