Speed Puzzling | My Adventure at the 2024 Canadian National Jigsaw Puzzle Competition

If you've never tried speed puzzling, if you've never even heard of speed puzzling, drop everything and pay attention! Well, that's what my sister told me as she persuaded me to join her to create a team to compete in the Canadian National Jigsaw Puzzle Competition. And I'm so glad I did! I may not have touched a puzzle since lockdown but somehow those little puzzle pieces get your adrenaline pumping.

Thank you! Maria was over the moon to get the opportunity to puzzle in pairs with you! She said it completed her weekend - she was able to compete in all the events in her first competition. Thank you for taking such great pictures the whole weekend! All the best in your puzzling adventures!

Great stuff, Ana. I had never heard of competitive jigsaw puzzling, but it looks such fun. Your times were amazing! And cool shirts! [I am 82 - “cool” is not really in my vocabulary, but it seemed appropriate for the shirts!) x

What fun! I honestly didn't know this was even a thing. Glad you got to share with your sisters. And you did a great job on the T-shirts. Now you have an official uniform you will have to go back next year.

I only knew this was a thing 2 years ago when Karen Puzzles provided info for watching 2022 Worlds in Spain. Since then I've been aware of a lot of competitions. I'm not a speed puzzler, but love watching the contests. Unfortunately, very few are live streams ie. Worlds & US Nationals. Luckily, Karen Puzzles did recaps of these events so we get to see even more along with her commentary.
Love the t-shirts!! Are you and/or your sisters going to the 2024 Worlds in Spain? I just got the Astrology puzzle that was used in the Pairs prelim. I plan to do over the Memorial Day holiday this weekend.

Thank you!!! The shirts were fun for us to be all matching! We aren't going to Spain this year. BUT, Maria has asked me to go with her next year. So....we might do it. I have to practice and get faster. Of course Ralph (my hubs) would come along and we'd make another video to share of our adventure 😊 That Astrology puzzle looked tricky, not the easiest to do! How did it go puzzling it?

@@HomeCulture Things didn't go as planned so I did Ravensburger's Seaside Sunshine instead I'm going to review a couple of videos of others to doing that puzzle. The Casual Puzzler and PuzzlesbyLiza did shorts on their YT channel. So, I might do it next weekend. I'll be watching this year's livestream of Worlds and Karen Puzzles recap of it.
