    I really like the design of the hotshot 2 but the Egress rerelease I preordered in December makes it a little hard to justify buying one currently. What a great kit!

    Regarding the screw pins there was a good idea from RC Action Australia. For the front suspension of the terra scorcher he heated up the screw pins as much as it needs to soften the plastic a bit during screwing them in. As a result there shoud be much less pre-tension in the plastic, which reduces the risk of cracking. So far the theorie, I had no change to test it on my one until now....

    Are you referring to the screw pins that attach the front and rear suspension arms? I think they should be fine just with lots of Grease applied. They go in much easier that way. 👍👌

    The main thing I like about the re release of this is the price is low and not stupid money as everything seems to be these days.. If I don't win your Gav this is one I will def be buying.

    @RCKickschannel This was my first ever RC car. I loved building this back in the day. This may be controversial but on completion I was disappointed that it didn't look like the box art. ( My parents still has the kit even though they retired to Jamaica and I'm almost 50 😂 ) The box art car is wired and low and basically looks amazing not unlike the real dimensions of most pro buggies. Wide arms low stance but the finished car is chunky narrow and far from low stance. For example the Egress box art really does look like the completed buggy. In fact most time your box art looks way closer to the stance of the finished buggies. If I was tamia I would create a new version of the hot shot that was the same stance of a modern competition buggy but the styling of the hot shot and the hot shot 2. Now that would really be worthy 😊

    You can adjust the stance easy enough to make it as low as you want, you just put stops inside the shocks.

  • @DevonMcFarlane

    @DevonMcFarlane

    @@RCKickschannel That would help 🤓 but The Hot Shot Chassis is genetically big boned. You could remove the shocks and let that belly hit the ground and it still wouldn't match the sexy box art 🤣. Have you ever done a breakdown of old tech Vs new tech? I'm aiming to get RC10 B7.x and would love to know what the new setup is about

    Hi, The front shock will need some tuning for sure to dial it in as the kit setup oil is miles off lol. In kit setup, it feels like a frictions shock as the oil is way too thin. Stunning looking vintage buggy mind.

    I have to agree with you. It’s a shame Jun from Blockhead couldn’t do another design but I can see Tamiya wanting to stick with the same livery as the Blockhead Wild One sold so well. This was a mistake as releasing a family of Blockhead kits with all different styles and colours fits more with Jun Watanabe’s style.
