Looks great and seems to perform well. But if I was to have a hotshot it would have to be the original in red. I just have too many memories linked to it to ever have anything else. But I suppose if you have em all that works too. But all in all the shine on the plastics just scream for a higher nylon content. I always remember it being very brittle. The wild one looks amazing. Id put that on my shelf for sure.

3:14 I'd have to look at the parts, but if the parts are pretty similar there's a chance they "inserted" the molds to produce both parts with a changeover. You might find light witness lines where in the plastic where the parts have different features if that's the case.

Wish Tamiya had gone with FRP or CRP plastic for the Gear boxes. I hit caught a rock and it grabbed the lower left A arm and sheared the entire front gear box apart!!?. Nothing really fast either Tamiya BZ with 14 tooth pinion!?. Missed the front bumper caught just bottom end of the A arm. crazy they chose ABS again for the gearbox with the much more powerful motors now!. I was originally thinking of 13.5 brushless hobby wing setup but not now probably would have destroyed the entire car!. I am surprised they didn't reengineer the gear boxes to have separate suspension arm blocks !?. I was looking at the gear boxes after fixing it, all that would need to be done is raise the height of gear boxes and leave an empty spot for the suspension blocks like other car brands have!.

I guess many owers alreay know this but HotShot serieas cars can be very fast only by replacing the motors on them even compared to any other Japanese RC buggies because of the simple structure of gear box. The biggest problem is the cornerting due to the far not enough capacity of the dampers... I have never had one but I guess SuperShot should have much better cornering performance... I have a Hotshot and I like the looking but I am not very satisfied with the cornering performance...🙄

@@RCKickschannel If you go brushless replace the aluminium pinion gear with a steel one from Traxxas. I ran a 4500kv motor from Hobby King in mine on 2s and 3s. However too much abuse and the side gears in the differentials start to separate and wear. You can also get away with not glueing your tires as they fit quite tightly and also allow a little bit of slip to take some strain off the drivetrain when launching.
