Spectrum & Apple Buyer Beware WARNING!

A Spectrum buyers beware.
GREED IS KILLING THIS COUNTRY!
We've been trying to replace a defective phone from spectrum since the very day purchased. My wife picked up the phone in a hurry and didn't notice the problem until they left the store. The screen had a black spot and it was flickering. The phone could be used but only intermittently. She called spectrum to see if they could have it replaced and was told to revisit the store. The store told her they can't replace it since she left the store with it and to go through Apple. So she finally gets an appointment with Apple and they conveniently find water damage and therefore couldn't help. That's correct, water damage on a brand new phone that is well known for its very high water resistance. In the process we learn that spectrum has a "14 day return window". So we tried and tried to have them honor it but since they continued denying service, we're now conveniently outside of the return window. We tried escalating the problem to management of the store as well as corporate. Today was our final attempt. We spoke to corporate leader where we had to yet again explain our problem. He basically said that if the spectrum store doesn't want to replace it, then that's final. He then went on to offer promotions and give suggestions such as an early upgrade and so on. In shock and speechless, he ended the call as we were just sitting there with our jaws dropped. I went ahead and paid off the junk phone since we're going to be canceling service. We're researching phone services now. Thank you.
