The blue copper deposits always tend to look better on camera than in real life and this mine is no exception. Rock Hounds... prepare to drool.

Abandoned & Forgotten Places
Documenting abandoned mines like never before!
Let's take abandoned mine exploring to the next level!
With your support you can help make this the best abandoned mine exploring channel on KZread!
Shot entirely in 4K! ...so, turn up those video settings!
On this channel we go deep... REALLY DEEP into abandoned mines and tunnels all throughout the western United States. We researched some of the harder to find mines and hiked or 4x4 back into them to explore and reveal their hidden secrets. Many of these remote locations are filled with cool artifacts, antiques and unique geology that will have you guessing as to why the old prospectors worked so hard to find gold, silver, and other minerals.
A&FP moves just a bit slower as compared to other mine exploring channels. Gly discusses why the miners chose these sites and he points out the geology and minerals that got them excited. Veins of quartz filled with gold and silver made many men lose sleep in the 1800’s and early 1900’s and modern prospecting still does to this very day.
DANGERS? Oh yes, there’s allot of dangers associated with old mines. Un-exploded dynamite, blasting caps, bad air, bats, spiders, and snakes all find their home in abandoned mine shafts and tunnels. Oh, and let’s not forget rotting timbers, flooded passages and collapsing rock!
Gly takes abandoned mine exploring seriously with all the proper safety equipment, training, and experience necessary to do this activity as safe as possible but that doesn’t mean we can’t have a bit of fun along the way. “Gly”, your host and his band of crazy characters “Old Bob” (Gly’s Jeep), “Quackers” (Gly’s duck) and “Bobbie” (Gly’s hula girl) are sure to brighten your day with their comments and silly antics. Heck, they may even give you a chuckle or two.
Just like Saturday morning cartoons before the internet was invented, Abandoned and Forgotten Places uploads each Saturday at 7:00AM PST. (that’s 10:00AM for you eastern folks) so don’t forget to click that subscribe button and bell icon to receive notifications of new episodes!
Please LIKE, SHARE, SUBSCRIBE and COMMENT! All these things help grow our channel and your financial support helps us find new locations and helps put fuel into “Old Bobs” tank. Old Bob, thanks you!
Ok, now for the ugly stuff...

He's running Acme Aerospace these days.
I do appreciate you bringing back the old intro, sure do miss it.
Thanks both for bringing the adventure to the viewers. No matter what you do, I will appreciate the second helping of mine exploring each week. Cheers!
Love the old , original intro...🎉❤ Old scool Wednesdays is cool! Good to see Laura incorporate into the videos more... Im not going anywhere... Two episodes a week...yay!❤
This format, from your KZread beginnings is the best. The music and the humble intro is without doubt the way to go.
All of the old schoolers enjoy this opening just like myself. Thanks Gly..
Nice to have someone to take turns with, yes? I love getting 2x mine explores every week. I know it's the old "classic" intro but maybe consider adding "and Laura The Explora" after "with Gly Coolness? She deserves billing 😊
I really enjoy the inclusion of Laura, you both really compliment the channel with your excitement in exploring. I am grateful neither of you are exploring alone, there’s hopefully greater safety in pairs. Thank you for sharing these fascinating places.
I am really enjoying both the old school and the new school episodes. Thanks for all of them. Stay safe you two.
I really like the original intro being brought back!
That’s the first time I’ve seen the note about Old Bob’s junk. Absolutely hysterical Gly! 😂 Thank you for all you and Laura do for us! 🤘
A shame that it doesn't link up to the collapsed portal of that mine, but at least we went underground! I wish you would give just a tad more camera time to the beautiful ore deposits when you come across them, there were some nice Crisco cola in the last mine you explored some very brilliant green-blues that were a lot brighter than the remnants on the stones found in the gobbing. But ultimately they were just small incidents of it. well it's certainly nice to have an extra video to watch in the week, so thanks for that! Take care you two, and see ya on Saturday!
I forget how the videos were back when you started. As cool as it is to see you use the drone and all the cool tools that you have now. Having the single camera is just raw and less refined, but fun to watch. I have missed this style of video. Laura, we need to buy some rocks and get you a camera of your own for these videos! It would be fun to do split screens when y'all get into something interesting.
Very cool that you’re bringing back the old school style. Don’t forget that Laura is with you now 🤣😂
Retro Wednesday is great. Thanks Gly and Laura. The snake trails are the real reason you sent Laura in first.
You take care of that girl Gly.
Those little mines really make you appreciate those with big ball rooms and high ceilings. That last mine even made my back and legs hurt. Thanks for the video and stay safe to you both. See you Saturday.
Rubber Duck stuck under the frame of Old Bob. LOL!!
Keep the great videos coming friends. From Scotland 🎉😊
Two items: First, I emphasize with your neuropathy comment. I also have it mainly in my right leg - it is a PAIN at times. Second, your comment about batteries. I learned to carry spares. My buddies and I would go out to Ballarat and then into Death Valley in 1962 - 1966. We used 4D cell flashlights and carried extra batteries and bulbs. The flashlight would only fail if we were several ladder flights down. Lots of fun and several miracles that we were able to get out without too many scratches, etc. Safe exploring and I enjoy your videos!
Nice explore Thanks to both of you for taking us along 👍
Two suggestions: 1. I'm looking forward to seeing Laura lead an exploration, just for variety. 2. I wish you guys would talk a wee bit more about what was being mined, what the remains of the vein look like, etc. This video has green stripes through it, what were they? Even if it is repetitious to long-time viewers, new folks to the channel would appreciate it, I'm sure. For example, at 29:42 of this video, is the green stripe Malachite? Hard to tell not being there... Those aren't criticisms, just ideas... Keep on making the great videos, and we'll keep on watching!
Love the episode ❤ Laura. Love hearing your commentary. What a smarty keep it up, thanks for all the hard work. God Bless
Another great show from you both, she does such a great job it is unreal. May the channel grow y'all stay safe I look forward to each Wednesday and each Saturday God bless you both 👍👍👍👍
I always wondered what my fascination with cave exploring was, and channels that focus on it. It's like an incomprehensible draw -- a stress relief to watch people descend down the bowls of planet earth. And why mainly this channel, I wondered? I tried studying I.T at first, it was soul crushing; didn't work out. I then realized I was passionate in the outdoors, and in science. I tried Bio-tech, but it didn't quite do it for me. I switched to environmental science for a while; didn't do it for me either, getting closer though. I then became a fisherman, and considered marine Biology even, and that sport was fun for a short time. I flirted with Scuba as well, but that didn't quite do it, either. Now, in a funny twist of fate, I find myself moving from Florida to Colorado for a Geology degree, and I think back to all the years I've been watching cave exploration, whether cave diving, dry caving, climbing, mine exploring, volcanos, archeology, ancient cultures/ruins, pyramids, you name it -- and mainly this channel for mines and cave exploration -- Abandoned and Forgotten Places. I was fixated on what I ACTUALLY wanted to do. There's something special about the Geology, about the passion for history and time, of exploration, and in just appreciating the earth itself, and these portals of wonders. It has really been a major indicator for me in getting into the earth science field in the last couple months. When I was looking at other states, wanting to leave Florida, I realized the mountain regions are west. I saw the mountain terrain of Colorado, and I couldn't believe they had a Geology A.S degree that included some archeology even, at their community college. I INSTANTLY thought of this channel. I then looked into it -- oil / gas extraction and mining are major industries there; I instantly transferred my credits. Everything clicked. My bags are packed. And I have mainly this channel to thank for that. Thank you Gly!
Super entertaining! Thank you Gly and Laura. 👍
So cool seeing the gorgeous sky and then seeing it repeated in some of those tiny veins. Thanks, u 2. Looked excruciating crawling over those rocks. Ouch, poor knees.
Thanks Gly n Laura for another adventure great to have exploring on weds n sats now more to look forward too❤
I’ve got diabetes and went from 296 to 234 by cutting out all sugar, but the best loss came from not eating after 4:00 O’clock. I sleep better, and my weight dropped to 214 Lbs! The thing that motivated me was my kids, and wanting to stick around longer for them-take this for whatever its worth Gly!
I like this form of mine adventure.🚩
Great diversity! Love the new channel format 😀 👍
It's so nice to see the original intro to your videos. Sure have missed the intro start.
Another great video. You're doing great Laura!
1st. mine: Wow! those miners dynamited thru alot to get to the "good stuff". 2nd. mine: one of you should have held the barbed wire up for each other to crawl thru instead of the squeeze around. Okay, we're going to hold you two, as said at 12:24, to the 40 lbs...ha! At 27:24, its is always hard to maneuver a ladder while holding the camera in one hand. Good job Laura! That was a tight passage. Some mineral looking veins on the side walls. Wonder if the work was worth the miners effort. You two, really put in the effort today showing us the area. Thank you.
Lots of golf ball size chunks of green and blue, but no big veins. This is my favorite style video, thanks for kicking it old school.
I think Laura is doing good on the camera work, and her narration is really improving. Watch out Gly, she may take over your channel. 😂
Awesome Wednesday exploration! I like any and all you do in your videos, old way, new way is great either way! Be safe out there ! See you next weekend! 👍🏻🙂
Greetings from the BIG SKY..
Laura is a game changer! Nice work!
AWESOME Wed !!!
Really liking the old school approach. I've missed it. The "new way" is too polished and while I love the drone shots, they are getting longer and longer, or so it seems. I'm a simple man.... Just get underground and explore! 😂
Cool mine exploration - lots of different rock to see. Thanks Gly and Laura!
That post!?! at 23:50 was soooo cool
Thanks Gly and Lora
Thanks for the Wednesday explore. Too bad those shafts didn't link up.
Superb job Laura 😊
Greetings from Poteet Texas I'm miss going old mine.
30:15 some nice sparkly bits on the left there under a very blue vein.
Good job Laura...
Nice explore. Glad to see Laura and you taking turns and being careful. Loved the blue... The natural stull at 23.37 was something I'd turn into furniture of some sort if it weren't holding up the back of a mine. Thanks for taking us along!
At 23:20 that's not a kerosene can it's definitely a 1 gallon oil can - kerosene was rarely if ever used underground. Most people do think it's kerosene, so I see why you thought that! GREAT JOB!
You might never know. 100' deeper those micro viens might become huge. Old school mining was hit after miss miss miss.
Another great explore, Stay safe as always. See ya Saturday ;-) Love to you both xx
I've watched the channel for will over a year now and think it's great that you have Laura with you now. I'm sure her knowledge and help will come in handy! I'm going to ask a favor and I don't want to come across as selfish. Could who ever is in the lead carry the camera? "Back in the day" it was just you and me exploring and now I'm just following along. Let me explain, there's a big difference between "first person and 3rd person" perspective when it comes to video. First person immerses you in the action, where in 3rd person you a spectator watching the action happen. I know first person isn't always a good option but when possible could the lead person carry the camera... (getting off soap box)
fantastic viewing as always gly and laura , cant wait till saturdays episode 👍
Cool episode
thanks for a great old school video! I was wondering how much time and how much would the total amount of money spent on explosives did the first tunnel cost?
Nice to see the old intro again, and as we say in the UK, bugger!
Remember when Prune Juice would give ya some pep in your step then they carbonated it by some Doctor! which in mine's you just don't see a lot of those cans or bottles butt a lot news papers things that make you say hummm!!! Thanks again Laura and "Gly Magic!"!😂😅
Ha ha … sure was a bit of a bugger that last mine. Take care Gly dont wear yourself out!
That is a nice mine the third one. It looks very safe but I still would not go into a mine unless it was an actual museum attraction like Julian or Virginia City. We will go stupid places in a jeep, but underground, nope. Thanks for taking us along.
I'll be watching out for specimens on ebay. I've got my Galena so I'm waiting for copper and gold and silver specimens
Back in the day and my exploring around Death Valley, in that I care that 41 magnum.Or a 44 magnum. For the unusual wildlife too legit type
She squeezed it just right lol
Thank you so much. I sure did enjoy the show. GOD bless you both..
I have always like the intro music on these early episodes, Rusty Bucket Lindsey Abraham.

Thanks, I love that tune. You saved me from asking. Does anyone know if you can buy sheet music for that song?
YESSSS butt picking! did ya find anything?? LOL What will be next? Package adjusting? You are awesome
Very enjoyable 😊😊 I two. . Old school rules,, others drool😊
Thank again guys!
I like the Wednesday episodes good job You two nailed it. Is it possible the pack rats packed the road apples. I had a barn .I would hang a bucket on a ceiling beam ant they filled ot everyday
Have you given any thought to adding a hook and/or strap to your camera rig to make it easier to handle when climbing?

Thanks for doing the work to find the details behind him
Good Video work Laura! 💕🇨🇦
That made my day thank you.👍
Gly, you only have the rest of this year to finish your training with master Yoda. Be mindful of this task, as I won't be able to remind you again. May the force be with you...always! 🔦
3:07 No human tracks except Laura’s. This hasn’t been viewed in a long while.
Laura is doing a fine job so quit picking on her LOL. I think she could coach you on a thing or two.
Sounds like you had better buy yourself a mine soon like Frank!
We have glacial grooves on an island here in Ohio and what was that tripod looking things above that one entrance
Gly.......we LOVE Laura!!!! You need to do a lot of huggin' and kissin' and get her to stay forever!!! She is the greatest partner for these adventures!! WE LOVE YOU LAURA!!!
How secure to this day is some of the gobbing? Are brave enough to even touch a rock?
40 lbs, pmsl there won't be much of Laura left 😂
What kind of NUG do you carry?
I say alot worse than that 😂🇬🇧
Gly, are you and Laura partners or just friends?
I would say by the sound of things (Heavy breathing) it is way past time to lose 40 pounds. Your clothes and equipment are all a tight fit. Your breathing is not the same from videos just a few years ago. It is easy for people to start "nit-pickin" but this is different. This is the sound a concerned fan makes. Please don't wait until it is too late.
By the time you guys walk all over Nevada you should loose your weight you are looking for now just change your food intake for a more healthy diet lol. Be safe my friends.
You should at least throw a GoPro on Laura, for when you send her exploring ahead of you.
Just think, people pay good money for that kind of workout and it's not nearly as fun :)

If Mr M was El Magnifico Could Laura be eL Mamacita? 🤷♂️
Basic, no drone footage. Straight forward, so lets go. As usual plain, still interesting. So, left it is, no rights this time. Gly just had to do it, down he goes. Laura did the same. The end. OK.

Basic comment. No substance but might be worth reading. Ideas go left and right but no real direction. Must be a boring person. Ok
was that fin?
