Until you see the $$$. Such cleaning costs at least 250.

@@fpeter01 it depends I got a service in my local bike shop and it was 80 quid that included a Sora cassette and chain and all the cables changed but that was a few years ago so it probably is a little more now and my new bike is 105 so I would expect it to cost even more. But my bike shop doesn't clean the bike down from what I can tell.
Strangely obsessed with these videos. Keep them coming guys. 👍

Stunning.! Huge difference between before and after. Was out today for a 60Km gravel ride in the pouring rain, and once I got home I washed, cleaned and lubed the bike. Was thinking about your videos and always checking the bike to try to spot potential problems. 🇫🇮😎

Just found your chanel, and I'm absolutely loving it. Personally I like to take care of my bike, not only because I trust it with my life down the trails but because it's nice to take care of things and keep them in good working order. That being said, these videos give me an urge to completely strip apart my bike and clean it lol.

You are one of my inspirations for my personal bike maintenance (meaning the bikes of my family and some chosen friends). I particularly liked the narration this time (long time viewer, hi from germany), can't really put my finger on it what's done differently this video, maybe more detailed? Of have you just felt more relaxed when doing the narration? Oh, and the shots (at the beginning/before and after) are too fast for me, I need some time to orient before I can spot the relevant details :-) keep the good stuff coming and enjoy your work!
Thank you man! I very like videos with bike service, rebuild or restoration. It very satisfying. And Specialized Epic HT it’s my dream bike) There is one in my small town. Hello from Ukraine🇺🇦

Great video as always. So impressed by how you find all these little things I think most people wouldn't even notice. You also do a good job explaining how these smal things might end up as big trouble all the same.
@Bikespeeds

It’s all the small things that add up to just a bike being completely destroyed, if you can maintain the small problems you never get to a big problem ⚙️

We do try get mountain bike videos when we can, we don’t have many trails or mountains near us but when we get the chance to film one we always bring it to the channel🧡⚙️
Okay, you asked for interactions. If I was there doing the service, I’d put the wheel back on first, then check the derailleur hanger alignment, turning the wheel as I went keeping the valve stem as my check point at 12,3,6, and 9 o’clock. Practically every bike even from new the hanger is not right and can be improved upon. Also, every accessory screw, used or unused. Take them out and put some Phil woods hydrophobic grease on them. Same with the stem and steerer tube bolts, especially on each side of the washer, also the seat clamp bolt. Maybe you did this but didn’t show it, but I was surprised the hanger wasn’t checked. Pull the seat post, clean and regrease.
More videos for this
Perfect job 🤙🏼

Definitely more coming🧡⚙️
These are always great and enjoyable videos, but this time I was little disturbed because I didn’t see any maintenance for derailleur clutch. I think it’s quite important part of basic service because it can affect Shimano’s derailleur performance.
Hi guys, great videos very well made, i know its time consuming and detailed to produce these. Top mechanic skills are great to see, i've been a racing cyclist for years and maintain my own bikes, i have still learnt alot from your videos. I think you could mention the tools you use, like wire cutters, most people use rubbish cutters that make a mess of it, but proper bike ones have the hooked cutter that makes a clean job of inners and outers, an easy thing to underestimate, like so many of the tools, best wishes for 2024, Nick - Bristol,

Thanks for all the support Nick, we consider our video’s entertainment and not a how to channel, it’s just how we enjoy to make them! Good luck with all your work🧡

Another wonderful job. What a transformation to this MTB. Lee, have you ever had a chance to service and detail a fat tire bike? They are really popular in the north-central United States where I live. Best wishes for continued success.
@Bikespeeds
Жыл бұрын
They were a trend over here for only a year or so. We don’t have much of the landscape for them, so seeing one is rare though we do get them in from time to time⚙️
My new trek had the same extra long front brake cable. I think they are even the exact same brake (Shimano mt). Lbs charged me $50 to shorten it! Usually I do everything myself but I didn't have those little brake parts. Needless to say they'll never get my business again...
Very nice rebuild, but why do you not use shimano offical mineral oil?
What do you use to rub down the brake rotors? Great job on all of your bikes.
Morning, another therapeutic video, thanks. When you wash a bike indoors, do you lay a towel on the floor to catch drips and run off?
@Bikespeeds
Жыл бұрын
We mop up after ourselves, though we don’t use much water at all really🧡
Those tires are 2bliss compatible-might have made sense to upsell the customer given the evidence of thorny terrain riding. Surprised this wasn’t done by the original bike shop as standard
Do you inflate the tires to max labeled PSI?
Great service as usual. About how long would you sat it took you to build up your tactile feel for bikes? Also I'm curious, I have seen some KZread vlogers who use GT85 on their bikes after a ride. Do you use it?
@Bikespeeds
Жыл бұрын
I’ve been round bikes my whole life so it’s something I’ve built up over many years of tinkering lol⚙️
How u clean sprocket or cassete,need something degreaser or something like that?
При наличии инструмента я тоже так могу.
It may have been asked already but what do you use to protect the shop floor when you clean the bikes? Assuming it can get quite messy? I do mine on the driveway but put an old sheet down so the grime and any oils don't soak into the ground.
@Bikespeeds
Жыл бұрын
We simply mop up after ourselves and are cautious with the water, we try not to use to much🧡
How much this cleanup cost
Why didn’t the inner tube get patched?
