Ойын-сауық

Severe weather is expected over the eastern North Island over the next couple of days as the centre of a new low tracks by.
Heavy rain and Severe gales are likely in this part of NZ.
We track the life of this low affecting us, and what is coming in for Matariki long weekend.

We live on Waihi Rd Tuai, up by Lake Waikaremoana. As you said "this area here" and touched your screen, I looked out the window through the heavy rain and saw your finger touch our lawn. 😂. As always Phil and your Weather Watch team, bang on guys. Cheers from Caroline and Rex.🎉

Haha!! I hope I had nicely clipped nails :) I love your part of the world. I grew up in BoP and my Grandparents lived in Wairoa - have driven through Tuai more times than I can remember :) Thanks for the kind words - hope the weather's not too rough for you. Phil

Hi there, these are just "big picture" maps to see at a glance where the real rain is, it's not about identifying one small dot. We have maps and data on our websites to give you the local numbers and really make sense of it all - but these maps are for context to know if you're in the firing line or not.

Hi Gary, yes the smaller turbo prop planes don't like gales and they don't like low cloud - both may be in play tomorrow. Napier might be on the outer edges of the worst, so more than likely no decision made until the time of flying tomorrow.

@@karamains9444 Evidence of what? I see clouds and the way they move in the wind . The sun can be seen too on a clear day. I could tabulate this evidence of my eyes and I could develop hypotheses I think you too are deriving hypotheses from what you observe. However you will need to prove them now with such evidence as can be verified by other people or it will just be an opinion. The idea that any agency on earth can manipulate the weather will need verifiable proof. How? Why? When? Looking forward with interest to results of your investigations!
