😍 Holly!! HI 💐 that is the beauty of uploading videos.... they will always be around to enjoy at any given point in time. I really appreciate you for taking the time to watch this video and maybe the universe had it in store for you when you watched it. Timing is sometimes not what we think it is 😉🫶🏼 the colors are as they are on the screen and sometimes even brighter because of how the angle of the sun comes through into the blooming alley. It is tough to film that though because the colors either wash out, or the contrasts are too harsh, but yes... for a moment, the blooming alley was like walking into Aladdin's cave seeing sparkles of vibrant colors like jewels tucked away in the walls. Just amazing! 🥰 wishing you a wonderful day, lovely lady! I appreciate you and your support so much 🫶🏼❤️🌸

😍Lyn!!! Good morning from a sunny but chilly S'ern Spain 💐 Chilly!! March chilly!! 🙄😤 I am so pleased to have been able to put this video together with what is in actual fact in bloom on the patio. And yes, Smellavision app will be something that AI is already working on, I bet you! It would also be great to have it because it would shorten the video length, instead you just tell the viewer which fragrance to tap 😅 and with that in place, I could have shown more blooms, because, for the sake of the video length I had to make the Signature Selection and not all orchids in bloom made the cut. 🥲 however, I so appreciate you for watching this video, thank you so so much 🙏🏼 wishing you and Hans a wonderful sparkling Sunday 🫶🏼❤️🌸

Joe hi 😍💐 goodness me!! What a selection 😱🙆🏼‍♀️💆🏼‍♀️ sensational!! Just sensational 🥳 great time of year to order as well, not too hot yet and they have the best time of year to settle in 👍🏼 Yes, there is that Joe.... and quite amazing, to say the least 🥰 looking forward to the chit chat live stream 'gawk at blooms while they are here'. I think the coming weekend is the best timing, even though it would appear that this Sunday all the blooms will be open. Not sure how the weather will be though. We are expecting rain. @@NinjaOrchids The Nature Co recently posted a video about cattleya repotting and he advised against repotting cattleyas while a cane is developing or if there are no new roots. I had bought all the media needed and some new pots, but I'm not sure what to do. One orchid (Brassocattleya Gulfshores Beauty 'Green Gem') has roots wrapped around the outside of the nursery container and I'm not sure how that will go. I might have to cut the pot or sacrifice some of the roots.

What a nice surprise to be able to watch your video this morning. Loved seeing all those glorious orchids in flower in your beautiful garden. You inspire me to keep working with my cattleyas. I've switched the majority of my cattleyas to plastic pots with cones in the center. They are clear plastic with a white plastic outer pot. I've added a wicking system with a saucer or water reservoir for each. They're in medium/small lava mix. I'm finding that I'm watering much less frequently. I check them each day and refill the saucer/check the wick. I've noticed that the cattleyas are doing much better. Developing more sprouts and roots. So.....thank you for suggesting the saucer system. I think planting the cattleyas on the cone in the pot center has provided better aeration for them. I still grow my dendrobiums and oncidiums in an organic mix of bark, perlite, lava and bits of sphagnum. It seems to work the best for those orchids. And, finally, I have a few orchids in Australian tree fern bark. Guess I try to match the growing medium to the orchid's needs. Hope all is going well for you. Please keep providing your videos. Bonus!! 🙌🏼 the cone does provide additional aeration, yes. It is a great little added advantage to have pots like that. Sounds like you know your babies' well, and I am loving reading your comment. The variety of options that we can choose from to grow orchids and get great results is what makes this hobby so exciting. Not a one fits all concept, but so many options. Finding what works, what helps with our lifestyle and then seeing results, is the best feeling every 🥳 hope you had a wonderful day, Pat!! Hi Melissa 😍💐 ansellias are INSANE!! I love them so much! Mine look a little rough because of the winter conditions being a little too harsh for an extended period of time, but they are able to handle it, so, I am ever so grateful not to have to carry them inside for 5 months every day 😅 LOVE them!! You might find yourself having more than one of them because where you are at, they can be around the patio, in containers... and wow, what a way to grow these beauties, allowing them just to go wild in a pot 💆🏼‍♀️ 🤪 thank you so much for watching, lovely lady! Beautiful, exciting blooms! ❤❤❤For international orchid day, my unnamed Blc has a flower spike just starting to emerge! Since it was a rescue last September, I was just happy to see the new growth. Blooming is a bonus! It is a cross between Blc Waianae Leopard and Cattletonia Why Not ‘Orange Paradise,’ so I’m hoping for beautiful orange blooms!

None of my plants are in spike at the moment growing roots and leaves. They might not come this year being that I reported them in lather rock what do you think? Just hope that I’m giving him enough feed once a week I’ve feed my plants on the information that’s what he says so that’s what I’ve been doing but then next time I should give him a good flush out and start, again next month catch you soon and some lovely plants. You have their lovely blooms. Mine will come again soon. Catch you later.❤❤

HI Andrea 😍💐 growing roots and leaves!! That is something to celebrate because it is the growing season, after all and the sooner they get their grow on, the more time they have to grow nicely 👍🏼 As long as they are growing vegetatively, I do not see any reason why they should not spike for you later in the year. After all, lava rock is like bark, only thing is it won't degrade. Yes, flushing is always a good thing. Think of it as, you are giving the roots a party in the pot 😃 enjoy the process of your orchids growing new structures! Without those and without roots, no orchid will bloom well. do you ever get panicked that you will get gusty winds and those Laelia spikes are going to snap? I'd have a stake on those puppies to keep them stable. I'm mad that I didn't get any Ansellia blooms yet. I am hoping mine will be dark like the Kenya Mud since that is what I bought it for. Maybe next year. I do have a spike on Cyrtopodium punctatum, pretty happy about that, I didn't think it was big enough to bloom yet. Waiting to see if I get anything from Cyrtopodium paniculatum, it started its growth very late this year (usually starts in March and I just noticed it pushing today). I think I will be getting blooms on 4 of the Laelia purpurata this year. Was hoping for 5 of them to bloom but doesn't seem realistic. Also got a sheath on walkeriana coerulea x maxima coerulea. Been growing that from a seedling so nice to see that it is at or near bloom size finally.

Don Miguel 🥰💐 hola jefe!! I only fear for the spikes as they are growing and if I have to move orchids that are anywhere close to the spikes. BUT, in order to avoid that from happening without having to stake them, I place them into position early enough where I can be 99% sure that I won't snap them. The wind won't take them out because I have them in the blooming alley. It can blow a hoolie on the patio, but the blooming alley does not take a beating. I am lucky, so far, that no rupicolous laelia spike was taken out because of me... bud blast and critters are something that comes with the territory. So, I hope I did not jinx anything 😅 Isn't that Kenya Mud gorgeous?? While I remember the actual Kenyan mud to be more on the reddish side, there are areas where the color is pretty close to what we see on the blooms after it has rained. I LOVE it!! Cyrtopodiums would be fun to grow as well, do you have your's outside all year 'round? Native to FL would mean that they can handle temperature drops, but possibly not for a long period of time, like I would have here? I think they are amazing and congratulations on getting your's to bloom 🙌🏼 I keep trying to see if I have any shadows in my purpurata sheaths, but methinks I am only imagining things. For now, I shall celebrate the blooming of your's will you 🥰 speaking of first sheaths, my iricolor has a sheath in the latest new growth. The leaf opened and tadaaaa, there it was 🥳 I am going with, its blind, but that is another step to the orchid growing to blooming size from seedling stage 🙌🏼🤸🏼‍♀️🙌🏼 mucho happy!! @@NinjaOrchids I don't see why you wouldn't be able to grow Cyrt punctatum, the native range is in the center of the state and goes a bit north of me, where it is generally cooler than here near the coast. It is like a Catasetum, grows fast and makes a big bulb and drops all of its leaves and wants to be mostly dry in the winter. Problem is they are generally pricey, the only reason I have my punctatum is that Todd got two keikis off his so he gifted me one.
