November is National Native American Heritage Month, and videographer Joshua Monroe spoke to the Director of Repatriation, Archives and Records for the LTBB of Odawa Indians about the significance of Mackinac Island to the tribes. Most people don't know that when the step foot on the island, they're walking on one giant burial ground.

    My great great great great grandpa, joseph mastigon/satigob/satigo was born on the island, as was his son, his grand daughter, his great grandson, my great grandpa, daniel

    I'm the fifth great grandson of Sarah McLaughlin and Theopold Lapeer. They had 12 children all of who moved to what is now called cheboygan county.
