It was officially stated that series cost over a million USD. I am not sure on the actual figure though, can't recall what it was. They hired professional movie crew, professional actors (not all, but those who had lines etc; scavs were played by the game dev team :)), all professional gear and shit... This was super high value production even for Russian prices....

I'll put a few links here of tarkov videos that might interest you to react to, and why I think you might enjoy them. I obviously don't expect you to watch these all much less react to them, but hopefully one of them interests you. Weapon Customization: kzread.info/dash/bejne/X4ybtdeClt3WnpM.html This video is 5-6 years out of date, but still does a good job of showing the incredible depth of weapon custimization within the game. There are literally thousands of possible changes you can make to common weapons platforms such as the AR or AK platforms, and still hundreds of changes for something relatively obscure like a random coldwar era soviet shotgun. Note that I'm not talking about cosmetic-only changes - all of these changes, outside of using a different camo pattern, has a direct impact on at least one of the ergonomics, recoil, bullet velocity, dimensions, or audio of the weapon. If this interests you, here is a quick slide show showcases just how dynamic this weapon creation system really is: kzread.info/dash/bejne/ZZ1h3JiDeauXf5c.html The creator is showing off a few hundred different weapon variants he's created for himself. Higher skilled/more intense tarkov general gameplay: Here's a video set on the Factory location from the Raid video series :-) it should look familiar. This is from the most popular Tarkov streamer, who is Australian former military. kzread.info/dash/bejne/hIFr0o-xkbTVnJM.html Here's a very skilled player that highlights some of the less realistic aiming and movement using optimized equipment and pretty crazy map/angle knowledge. You may recognize this location from the USEC intel they found in the raid series, the Terragroup Labs. An example of a very skilled solo player taking down 9(!) players who were working (poorly) together. kzread.info/dash/bejne/apl41MisfaytnLQ.html watching the first 10 minutes gives the tactical action, after that it highlights some of the more ridiculous looting aspects of the game. Here's a squad of four in action: kzread.info/dash/bejne/aWp7ktpygbengpc.html Note that this streamer, Karmakut, is a great resource for gameplay of whatever game you want to react to. He almost always tends to play reasonably tactically, commanding all the way up to 128 man company size elements (all real players) operating in multiple AOs in Arma 3. Here's a bonus ARMA 3 video from Karmakut that you'd almost definitely enjoy reacting to, and offers a wealth of milsim content for criticism: kzread.info/dash/bejne/dmd8ubaphLXIecY.html

If you guys were wondering, on top of the factions USEC, and BEAR. There is the subgroup (scavs)and also another subgroup called the cultists, they have hidden rooms across all the maps and inside them you'll usually find good loot inside the rooms, among other things like pig heads. and dead bodies. If you go on a night raid they have a high chance of hanging outside those spawn rooms, they also have an ability to walk really quietly so they can sneak up behind you and stab you with poison knives. You two really should get into acting. Both of you would be phenomenal actors I think. It's also super cool that you guys look and act remarkably similar to two of the main actors from the Sci-Fi series "The Expanse" (Steven Strait who plays James Holden and West Chatham who plays Amos Burton). You guys seriously should try to get Steven and West on your show or see if you can meet up with them at a comicon and do an episode hanging out with them two. If those guys watch your channel, they'll probably tell both of you the same thing, that you two need to get into acting.

The biggest difference between this and similar American films is their universal use of blank firing weapons. Most American films rarely use blank firing weapons anymore for safety reasons. In Russia, they can probably do whatever they want. It's the difference between those old Hong Kong martial arts films and American films. There's much more leeway for what they can do in camera stunts wise because there's less restrictions and insurance issues. Just think about episode 2 alone. All those guys firing blanks inside enclosed spaces on top of having all the crew around, camera guy is running backwards, everyone is on the move. All it takes is someone being in the wrong place at the wrong time with all the gas being vented from those rifles. They even directly shoot blanks at eachother in close proximity which is a huge Hollywood stunt no no. But God bless them for it because the finished product is fucking spectacular.

Uh lol that's completely untrue, Baldwin was using a blank firing gun and they are extremely often used, that's not why there is a difference the difference is in the actually caring about realism and showing respect to the medium of combat

Breaking plates is a greek tradition that can symbolize good luck. Nowadays it's most seen in weddings. It got popular in russia for some reason. In Ukrayne they had a event in 2014 where they broke plates in a square as a public stress release event.

SCP universe is a mockumentary at it's core. It's trying to mimic documents of some sort of secret agency. While all short films I see about SCP are trying to collect tropes from cheap TV series.

watching the BTS footages really goes to show that it wasn't just the vfx and the guns, BSG had a project that was well thought out, well choreographed and overall just above and beyond what people would expect out of promotional content for a game. comparing this to the SCP video is kinda unfair but it's not really punching down with how people seem to gush over it for doing the bare minimum.
