A lot of the younger viewers may not realize this, but getting on scholarship is basically like being given a new car, value-wise. Each year.

afe laid Oh definitely. But it was a job that walk-ons were doing for free before. I was just noting that some younger people who don't understand how freakishly expensive college is may not understand why it is so emotional.

Damian Lillard 2.0 Well, that depends on the car. A "new car" could be anywhere from $19k up to $100k and more. I would say $19k - $100k per year is about the value of a year of university through a scholarship, and most are going to be closer to the lower-end of that scale. Yes, some colleges get close to $100k or more in tuition, but the very expensive schools either don't have sports or they do not offer full-ride scholarships. An example would be Harvard. Yes, they have a football team but no they do not offer full-ride scholarships, just like all of the other Ivy League schools.

I walked on to my college football team after all the practices work outs 110 yd sprints coach called me to his office and awarded me my scholarship.......my position coach came by and congratulated me. I walked out of there on cloud nine the first person I called was my mama holding back tears she was so happy for me. It was one of the proudest days of my life to achieve my dream. I'm proud of these guys.

French Doge looked up his name, dude put up 1400 yds and 23 td as a running back and 60 tackles and 2 forced fumbles as a defensive player and committed to south Alabama, which is a D1 school so they do give scholarships so very possible he’s telling the truth

Yes indeed,i thought that last clip was the coolest of all of them.
I was a walk on for New Mexico State for my Junior and Senior year. Although i never got to experience earning a scholarship like these men, In just 2 years as a walk on, i earned a spot on the travel team, earned playing time in every game, and left my senior year a bowl champion. Still a dream come true. Congratulations to these players though, huge huge accomplishment

The last one really got me. Bringing his mom in on it and when she said I was going to the bank that day to put my car up as collateral. I felt that so deep. ❤️❤️
2 of my friends walked on D1 they were so happy when they got scholarships. hard workers these kids are, full classes and sports every day. Not easy at all.
The last one hit me like a bullet. Work hard play hard and achieve your dreams hard❤️
My son was blessed to get a scholarship right out of high school. These walk-ons definitely deserve it. Congrats young men

Nothing more gratifying to me . Is hard work paying off .
I remember when I got mine, and it’s hard to put it into words. You’re on a team where most of the guys already have a ‘ship, and don’t have the perspective of how important each day is. Each practice, each workout, each meeting. Life of a walk-on is impossible to understand unless you’ve lived it.

It started with getting chills watching these clips, then a huge smile, then I started crying. This is awesome
I never cry before from a video, but that last whew man touched my heart a lot... reminded me about how much my football coached cared about each one of us athletes in a special way.
I love these videos so much! Not only is it beyond heartwarming to see the player and their family’s reaction, but to see how genuinely excited their teammates are for them just make my heart so happy!!!
Its crazy how walk ons be some of the best players. All it takes its recognition. Being an Auburn fan, seeing Will Hastings walk on as a onside kicker, and now he's one of the best receivers coming back in the SEC.
This made me tear up with happy tears for these young men whose dreams came true.. God bless these young men. Hope this journey takes them where they want to go.
Damn I absolutely love this!!! Congratulations kids!!! Keep working hard!!!! $beautiful
I'm a Texas fan so I am joyful about the OT but that ECU wow

These clips never get old. Those guys work their tails off for those teams. It is nice to see it work out for them

God bless each and every one of you. You change people's lives in seconds! What a feeling that must be.

I love how excited they are for each other.
man that made me cry.,.,, i dont do sports but when i got my academic scholarship awarded it was amazing, and i already knew i would get it. i can’t imagine the amount of stress taken off their shoulders.
It's heartwarming to see how happy all the other players are.
This just shows if u work hard things can happen!! Congrats to all of these players!!@
Ok that made me shed some tears of joy !
ESPN you did it again.... I don't watch you to cry! Damn you!!!!!!
Ive been through tough times and know poor as good as anyone. I decided that i wanted better and i just turned 18 and started college and am BLESSED with my grandma and aunt that support me where i can play football and pursue my career. Happy for these guys
I love how hyped the other players are for the guys.

Gotta love it. Real emotions.
This is amazing. I'm crying...
Walk on to scholly is the one of the biggest achievements one can make in college sports. Nothing but sheer effort and hard work.
God bless them. So cited on a few
You dont know how hard these kids work to get there. This video is GREAT!

Never got a scholarship for sports or anything like that, but I did get a full academic scholarship my senior year of college. When I saw that email I could not even comprehend what had happened to me. I was in such disbelief I reloaded the email probably a dozen time. I'm just thankful for my incredibly supportive mom and sister as well as my great group of friends. I'm forever grateful of the opportunities awarded to me by my institution

Wow some dreams do come true
I hope you boy go far in life.
I was 5ft 9 and 165 lbs in high school. Ran a 5.0 40yrd dash. But playing football was the best thing I ever did in this life. I started at offensive gaurd and I was good. If I was just a few inches taller I would have walked on some D-3 team. Love this video. Im 62 now and I love the sport still.
3:32 when you don’t cry after getting dropped off at daycare
I’m a walk in at a division III school and had to play guard at 220lbs, even though there are no athletic scholarships at the D3 level, after a year of playing guard I got to move to linebacker which is nice
The last one was the best
And they greatly deserve it.
