I definitely didn’t expect that either! Initially they wouldn’t eat so just thought fisher would spear a few and they’d spook off.. but they hung around and started eating so it was a blast. No doubt on the grilled mahi sandwiches! We’ve been eating a lot of mahi recently! Did a ceviche bowl the other day that was awesome.

What a fun day with some bonuses. Thanks for the production work. Now get another one out 😆

I thought the shooting line could possibly tangle with the gun if I tried this in the mangrove. If was in the actual floatline I wouldn’t be as worried about it

I really enjoy your videos, the water looks beautiful. How far offshore do you need to go to get this clear water?

All depends! Clear water goes in and out constantly with the currents, weather, etc. summertime it pushes in closer like this trip. It broke crystal clear around 20 -25 miles out. But it’ll even come in closer a couple miles off the beach late summer as well sometimes.

Slow pitch jigging can get expensive. You will loose so many jigs I suggest to buy cheap jigs that work well you have to find the good ones like I did

No doubt on the expensive aspect! Some spots the cudas are so bad I don’t even want to drop a jig.. Definitely will look into some cheaper options that’ll fit the trick.

Yes they are great! I’ll shout them when I’m not looking for other fish.. sometimes I don’t feel like reloading the big gun setups and wanna stay ready.

How dangerous are barracudas when you are pulling your fish in ?

They aren’t really a threat to us, but often won’t hesitate to go after a thrashing fish. G I’d definitely be careful though handling a fish if a barracuda is right next to you. Reaction attack at the fish wouldn’t be ideal then lol

Lots of time in the water has built up our ability. Comfort is key, but we’re still no where near what some guys can do..

You don’t dive Oil Rigs bro, they’re almost always production platforms… huge difference.

I’m aware.. I refer to them as platforms in the video. With the KZread algorithm it’s just tricky to switch up a already working niche title.. Most people also just refer to them as the rigs around here so it’s more well known as that- even though technically they are production platforms and not rigs.
