I'm glad to see you again on KZread! I studied a little bit of Turkish during my studies and it's funny because I find that there seems to be a lot of similarities between Turkish and Hungarian. I didn't know that. Bravo pour ton interview à la tv!

I remember when you started Hungarian and this was so cool to see! I also REALLY appreciated that you shared your struggles with math. I wonder how many language people also find math difficult? I certainly do. I try to understand it by thinking of it AS a language. 🤓

Pár évvel ezelőtt féltékeny lettem volna hogy Csonka Andrissal beszélsz 😅 De szerencsére már kinőttem belőle. Nagyon jó volt az interjú. Furcsa hogy magyart hallok KZread -on mert amúgy nem nézek magyar csatornákat. Amúgy kíváncsi vagyok, tudtad követni a hadarást? Nekem más nyelvekben az nehéz. Amikor gyorsan beszélnek... Gratulálok. Jó interjú volt. A koreait kihagytad 😊 további jó tanulást.

Yes, it's not about empathy, it's about habit. They were even joking at the beginning before contacting with Lindie that he needs to try to slow himself down a bit for the sake of the guest. :D

You don’t need a “what for” to study a language. Hungarian is an amazingly beautiful language, the people there are so nice too. So why not? You don’t need a purpose to learn a language. Simply wanting to learn it is enough, no matter how many or little people know the language or how “useful” it’ll be for your every day/professional life.

Interest in culture, interest in history, general liking of the language or sounds. Communication isn’t the only reason that someone would like to learn a language.

By being able to speak Hungarian, a person has the ability to communicate in one of the most difficult languages in the world and that creates the opportunity to get all kinds of very well- paying jobs, and this is just one aspect of things. It was actually mentioned in the interview that a lot of people (foreigners) live in Hungary and for good reasons.

It's fun, expands my worldview, allows me to listen to podcasts and read articles in more languages, and has opened opportunities for me to meet my favorite Hungarian band and make friends from all around Hungary. To each their own, but I'm in love with this langauge!
