Nah, Jun Senoue will always be the best. Tomoya Ohtani tries to hard to sound techno and like that annoying modern dubstep. Some of his music sounds nothing like Sonic.

@@noventaporcento Tomoya Ohtani has made amazing music for Sonic, just look at Sonic Runners, Sonic Unleashed and the original Sonic Colors. It's only in recent times where he's been drastically leaning on techno/dubstep when making Sonic music to the point where it just doesn't feel like Sonic anymore. Sonic Forces and now Sonic Colors Ultimate are prime examples of this, and even that Splatoon song that he composed for Smash Ultimate. A lot of the time, it just sounds like a jumbled mess of random beeps and stutters.

I have a feeling that this version wasn't used in Ultimate for the fact that the Symphony, or this remix wasn't recorded till much later in the game's development, so it was too late to add to the game. So they ended up sticking to the original EDM mix that they had planned and recorded.

I don't have words to express how much I love this version.

The rest of the song is brilliant, but this part just lacks the emotion the rest had, it feels like the same beats being repeated over and over with no payoff, and it doesn't fit the rest of the song. I remember how disappointed I was listening this at the Sonic Symphony. An amazing everything else, but that last minute was so painful...

I think this and then into Endless Possibility in my opinion was probably the best part of the symphony, I love Crush 40 and thought the medleys were brilliant but something about Tomoya Ohtani’s band stole the show at least for me. Edit: With Ultimate out I stand by this version more then the actual remix as this felt more close to the original while the other feels so off, I’m not saying it’s “bad” just not what I was expecting.

That new back ground that starts at 3:27 literaly made this song so much better!

I’m glad more people are coming around to this song. I had a soft spot for it even a decade ago although I agreed then that the heavy digital vocals were jarring. I still feel that way today but the added instrumentation amplifies what I’ve always appreciated about it. My one gripe is that I really liked the guitar at the end of the original version and was a little saddened by its replacement by the EDM section here but I’d say it’s a worthy trade overall.

I haven’t listened to this song since 2010. I remembered EVERY single word! Music is incredible.

This song hits me hard. I had a best friend in second grade and he loved Sonic Colors, he got me introduced into it and its one of my favorite games ever now. his song was his favorite and we would always play it during recess while doing backflips off of the swings. He had to move and I cried the entire day and watched Stampy to calm me down. This song is amazing.

They shouldve added that one cutscene from the ds version where Yacker tells the other wisps about sonic in colours ultumate, and they could add the mother wisp in ultimate but I doubt it.

That last bit made me tear up. lol.

I don’t even really enjoy this song that much but it was a pretty pleasant surprise to see it in the concert. It was so endearing when the pianist sang along with “COMMUNICAAAAAATE” at 0:09

If you read the lyrics, it really does come across as a message of empathy. No matter the languages and superficial differences, all people can understand each other via empathy. Kinda also ties into the rainbow of Sonic Colors, doesn't it?

I really like the added guitar and drum work in the both this and the Reach for the Stars remix. These are easily superior to the originals, in my opinion.

I loved the original. And holy shoot, this is amazing. They kept the old vocal style but the remixed music makes this so good! Love the remix!

Sadly. This is the remix that never got into the game. Just part of the 30th anniversary symphony.

i love how the lyrics tie to the ending of colours and with this version it sounds even more colorful, very apt!

Ngl when I played ultimate and this didn’t play I was kinda very upset. They took one of Sonics weaker vocal tracks, made it a million times better except for one tiny bit at the end, and then turned the tiny bit at the end into a full song and it sounded like crap

I almost forgot this song. One of my favorite Sonic songs ever. Thanks for making it 10 times better than what it already is.

Yknow sonic colors being a staple of my childhood this game meant alot to me, I wasn't able to beat the game, about 10 years later I pick up a copy for the wii and this song meant so much to me- it's probably my favorite song, and now that there's a remix- It makes it so much better. I can't wait to get a copy of this ultimate remaster to experience a masterpiece again like I was a kid again.

i never listened to the original (never had colors) so this song was a very pleasant surprise and certified jam when it came on stream when i went back to compare the original this new arrangement just does everything SO right that the old track is basically irrelevant

I felt the same way with Lego City Undercover when it got ported. But with these games getting ports the next generation can enjoy them
