Feeling sad is one way to look at it. Another way is to realize we're nearing thirty-five years of inspiration, and you, me, and other fans have had this great time of the same feeling. Some younger than sonic, some much older. But we all have this connection all these years later, and I'm glad we do, just like I'll be glad we have this connection when we hit the big 40.

I saw this show last night in Chicago. It was incredible from beginning to end. So much energy and nostalgia! One of my favorite parts was the audience, during the 2nd half of Reach for the Stars, they started turning on all their phone lights. It looked like a field of stars in the crowd and was done with no prompting from the singer.

this franchise as never went down because this franchise always goes up like sonic himself, when he gets on the floor he never gives up, the things he taught us is to never give up on your goal/dream to be the best and keep on running to the stars.

Sonic unleashed is one of the most underrated sonic games of all time, it deserves more respect than hate.

@@thawkadethat’s because up until Frontiers there really was no game that came close to Unleashed so a lot of people including myself during the 2010s started to appreciate it a lot more

This was one of the most amazing concerts I've ever seen. I got choked up when Emerald Hill Zone played because that was my first Sonic game and Sonic has had such a huge impact on my life. Thank you so much for everything.

Man, I'm 31 years old today. My mother was the one who bought me my first Genesis and Not For Resale copy of Sonic The Hedgehog when I was 4. My mother immigrated from Mexico with my dad to California and they worked for every penny they earned, and we didn't have a lot and we didn't earn a lot. We lived with my cousins and they would not let me play their gaming systems. My mother bought me an entire system and I loved it to pieces, I'd play it every day and thats where it started for me. It wasn't until I was older that I really realized what it meant to buy (for us) an expensive console with the money we didn't have to spare just so I could be happy. I thanked my mom again because that purchase took a lot to buy back in the day and I appreciate her so much for it.

I cannot begin to describe just what Sonic as a series means to me. This series has seen many ups and many (often embarrassing) downs, but I always take time out of my schedule to play a Sonic game. The first video I ever personally owned was a gift from my brother: Sonic Adventure DX for the Nintendo Gamecube (I still have the original copy he gave me. Still works fine!). It was a surprise gift one day. The trailer for Sonic Unleashed was the first time a video game trailer got me super hyped for a game (or at least, was the first video game trailer I ever paid attention to). The first game I ever pre-ordered (make of that as you will) was Sonic Frontiers. Every time this series has its highs, it fills me with the same childlike joy I felt the day I got my copy of Adventure DX. And with the success of Frontiers (and the many highs that game had amidst some of the low fluff), I've never been more optimistic and happy for the future of Sonic. Never stop running, Sonic!

I swear His World in the Sonic 06 Medley sent shivers immediately down my spine

Gotta say, a FREE concert featuring some of the best game music ever written is a pretty fantastic way to celebrate Sonic's 30th.

As somebody who grew up playing only sonic for the most part, I approve of this, I was also laughing at the little children not knowing the song and then saying the name of it when it appeared, the same thing happened with my kids, made me laugh really loud! Happy 30th anniversary sonic, thanks sega for making my childhood with this game, I know I’m late to the party due to my family and my son just starting 1st grade this year but still thank you for the memories with my friends and my brother, and thanks to everyone who worked on every single song from sonic. Can’t wait for the 35th

The His World part was just fucking amazing.

As a lifelong fan of the series, I see this as an absolute win. 30 years of a franchise is tough, especially for Sonic who’s franchise has a lot of controversy but still overall affected every child in the past 3 decades. Thank You Sega for what it means to be a kid!
