Sparx Hockey Skate Home Sharpener Review (First time using) DuPraw Powerskating

Спорт

Is buying a Sparx Hockey Skate home sharpener a good investment to make? Coach Ryan is about to find out and give some live thoughts on his impression of the sharpen and edge put on his skates. Trying to figure out if it's a good investment to sharpen my skates in between going to the shop.

You will want to set the machine so it starts sharpening higher on the toe. That will also finish higher on the heel.

I skate barefoot too :) You can use those Gillette clear anti-perspirant. Greatly reduce sweat and smell. Works well.

Hello, what would you recommend for the best hollow on a U8's skates? He is 46 lbs. He is currently on a standard 1/2" hollow but I've been reading a lot and I'm seeing recommendations for 5/8s and even 3/4 for better glide and learning proper edge work. Any thoughts?

You will hear all kinds of different opinions telling you that there is a 100% right way. I think a half is fine and experiment in the off season, you will find out quickly what works for him.

@@DuPrawPowerskating right on, we have been experimenting. We are currently using 3/4 fire. He has been improving steadily and said he prefers his skates “slippery “

Jason all I had to add on was the grinding rings I wanted that came in packs of singles. The only thing I've had to order in the last 6 months was a new filter that got clogged. - Coach Ryan
