A bit of info as to why lusitani was sitting back. It was because theyre lightly armored and skirms would EASILY mess them up. So Macedon (myself) goes in first to soak up ammo and distract the skirms. Thats what the side street push was for against the perioikoi spears.

I think that was just the unit trying to get into formation. The game should prevent a unit from getting into formation if it is in combat but this is Rome II we are talking about.

@@KaiserFlash No, he kept clicking attack, you can see it clealry. Go to a custom battle and keep clicking attack, you will see how a unit reacts and recognize it easily

@@mack626 apparently it's something to do with licensing in other countries? I'm not entirely sure. I know there were some issues regarding the lack of text chat regulation.

@@mack626basically there’s a British law requiring game chat to be moderated. They are a British company, so they just removed chat instead of coming up with a moderation system.

So as for the column, when a unit opens fire on an enemy, each entity seems to target the one nearest to it. So by having a column formation, it gives the defending unit a smaller target to shoot at, therefore minimizing casualties. I could be wrong, but this generally how missile units work in warhammer, so I imagine it's the same for Rome 2

Great game again by the Gorilla Boyz, just like you said defenders shouldn't have played that much under the towers, amd should have chosen better checkpoints to hold. Just to clarify we thought that a VP camp is forbidden but it's not on small maps that's why we didn't Fall back

@@PixelatedApollo1 thats the point, I was Sparta in this one, and Gorilla told us that there is no cap to how many units we could keep on the VP

Using the Ardiaei together with Sparta is a good idea, but if you don't use their missiles to cover the hoplite front, it's useless and that's what happened in this game; With Sparta it is better to get a lot of Helot Slingers or Periokoi Peltasts units, a lot of Periokoi Hoplites or Spears and a few Spartan Hoplites as the last line of defense, since that way you will be able to take advantage of the money, having enough projectiles to cover you. The fact that the Lusitani have a +2 in the tournament is misleading, I know it's because they are a faction that can be easy to beat with projectiles, but if you know how to use them easily it could be a -3 or -4 due to their damage stats. Combat.

i like the column push at the first engagement. you allow your first unit to become enveloped by the enemy, only to then come and and start stabbing into the back of the envelopment with the next unit.

Ardiaei is a seriously good faction. I played a similar siege battle to this as an attacker and got wrecked by their missiles. That’s why they get less points for using them.

Wow once again Gorilla boys impressive on the attack… Solid strategy. They ripped the walls to nothing. Took the towers and just grinned them done to nothing. Great use if range. These guys know this game. I’d like to see them in Rome 1… I know I could beat them in a pitch with Armenia… Their armored horse archers best unit in the game… Pepper with arrows then you have heavy cav to finish them off. Armenian Cataphract Archers best unit in Rome 1. I’ll massacre any force with a full stack within 2 Generals. Pitch of course. However Armenian has solid infantry too… I wish you would have a contest in Rome 1.
