I also think people don't give him enough credit for how skilled he was. Probably the strongest heavyweight p4p and perhaps the hardest hitting. Just check out what his opponents and sparring partners said about him. And he started late so by some estimations, he was close to 40 when he fought Ali and he fought him with a bad shoulder which was confirmed by 8 independent doctors after the fight

He was a frightening, terrifying tsunami of power, aggression and imperviousness of pain which only subsided when he got old and was still fighting.Ask Chuck Wepner. He was Sony's last opponent and post fight spent 3 days in hospital as his body had gone into shock.Chuck said List on was the hardest, toughest and most powerful boxer he had ever fought and after Chucks 128 fights, the only man who ever hurt him.

Frazier was way faster and had more snap on his punches, George just liked to bludgeon the other guy, hardly any technique but throwing arm punches when your that big pretty much means you can knockout anyone. If you've seen facing Ali you can see his quote "next to Frazier this was the hardest I ever been hit" when it's showing shavers.
