I’m a huge Tekken fan, so I love watching Riddles play Kazuya. I was so hype to see him win Collision, so no matter what happens in Summit, I’m just glad he made it to the final one.

I might sound cringe but there's just something elegant about good Kazuya play, cause it's not only situational awareness but input accuracy as well and being a dude who plays other fighting games on occasion, it's always cool to see people be able to pull off technically demanding stuff like that.

Spargo gives me hope for this mu. Every time I see this mu in high level. All I see Kazuya gimping them. Even though he lost. Respect 🫡 ✊

Sparg0 made this match up look actually possible with Aegis despite the fact they die to GoH from like 30% and upwards on any part of the stage, but both players were on fire

First couple games it seemed like Sparg0 didn't feel like playing the matchup.

As amazing as that set was, I had to laugh at "we don't round up" followed up by "that's right. This ain't high school."

Ya, thats a big downside to his limit up b, it doesnt have a hitbox at the top half, which also makes very punishable when recovering with it.

@@notoriousthief He definitely airdodged after. Now that I look at frame-by-frame, I think Riddles upaired and it just invulnerabled through the move or the move lost its hitbox lol.

@@inked9361 You have to keep in mind that Aegis has one huge weakness: Recovery. Against Kazuya, that's something you absolutely don't want taken advantage of.

spargo was WAY too aggressive this match. Cloud in theory wins against all shotos plus Kazuya as long as you space bair and other aerials and take your time. It was like he was impatient most of the set

Kazuya is a broken character. You can say he lose a MU, but the reality is that he can kill you with 2 or 3 interactions, no matter the character you use. Thats why the professional players ranked top 5 because Kazuya doesn't lose any Matchup

Spargo threw so hard. Spamming obvious hit boxes every single approach game 1. Then he stops, makes a comeback, but immediately SDs as soon as he gets a percentage lead. Tilts game 2 and gets demolished. Kazuya also looks pretty broken. Riddles only won neutral a couple of times each stock and Kazuya's frame data isn't even that bad.

kazuya slow asf, but hits hard. sounds pretty even. have you tried playing as kazuya against aegis? youre in for a bad time for the most part if youre not close to perfect with punish. just like in tekken.

@@wheresmyshield176 He's not slow at all. His frame data is decent. Don't even mention Tekken lol. There's easy punishes and hard punishes in Tekken like every other fighting game. And the inputs are way harder than any smash combo. Not a reasonable comparison at all

@@fangiscool1 literally made to be slow for the fact his punish is probably the best. You're gonna up air when you're getting juggled everytime talking about decent frames? You want to be a decent Mishima in tekken? Hard punish = pewgf on many -14 moves, distinguishing feature from the other mishimas. He has crouch dash, so what? This is an aerial game and he's literally nerfed to have the slowest jump, no one else has that. People get mad when kazuya hits them because a great kazuya will kill you. Same for Luigi. I get mad when an aegis hits me because now I gotta use my 'decent frames' to get back to the ground in an aerial game. Next you're gonna say Kazuya can air dodge out of juggles. I don't think I saw a single 0-death in this set. The comparison between him in here and in tekken is that he's still very much a difficult character to pilot at the top level because none of it is free despite what you may think. Average kaz player punish vs a top kaz punish is night and day, and you NEED that every point of damage/combo extension to win.

To all of you hating on Riddles, not only is he by far the best Kazuya, he was also taking sets off Sparg0 with Terry before Kazuya even existed. I guarantee Sparg0 would destroy any other top Kazuya so the only difference is the player. Lastly, you all act as if Pythra isn’t absolutely broken and super easy to mess up Kazuya with. 😂
