If you toss gil in VR... does that mean Chadley gets it? Like, where does that gil actually go?

Also, instead of the 4,000g loss, it was actually 1,000g. So it's like Chadley charges you 1,000g to use Spare Change in VR. Or from another perspective, he gives you a 3,000g discount compared to using it in the field (for that 4,000g amount anyway, IDK what the results would be picking other gil amounts). Does that make sense, or have I misunderstood what was shown in the video? If I'm correct, I'm confused by the "This is gonna cost ya" description of this video. Unless you're coming from the perspective of your gil should be refunded to you if Spare Change was used in VR (which I would agree with), Chadley technically offers the Spare Change ability at a discount.

I knew that most wouldn't care about this interaction even among my subscribers, but a few people asked me about it (probably my fault) so I wanted to stem that tide. I regret not making it shorter because I do hate wasting people's time. I'm just having too much fun playing with share factory.

I know I can't please everyone but I'm still trying to see what works. This video has a much lower like/dislike ratio than my other videos so I'm calibrating.

Does the money deal magical or physical damage? I thought it just did a flat damage number but this is proof of otherwise! I use it with hb absorb on cait sith for the giggles. When they get staggered use it as a fun way to heal LOL

Random question but once u use all the pirate items and dark matter theres no way to get more?

Correct, only 60 pirate jetsam I think. Dark matter is also limited and the game will not award you more than 1 of the hard mode monster items like the exquisite tonberry cape or whatever it's called

Spare change is good actually might make a video about it at some point if i have the energy You can get it to do easily over 10k damage on a full salvo and it pairs with hp absorb, so you can become a self healing gil turret It's a lot of damage (and basically all your health back) for just 1 ATB if you spec appropriately

Well the only time you're ever gonna get a full salvo off on most enemies is when they're staggered. Pairing with HP absorb is a good idea but mostly because you're gonna be eating damage during the cast. I did 20k damage with a full salvo on Titan in my previous upload but any character can do more than that in a stagger window if you have the stats to do 20k with spare change, which I showed an example at the beginning of the video. The base damage is 100 per toss, 1000 for a full salvo, and it can never crit. The problem is that a full salvo takes an eternity to do. In the time it takes to use it, you can build another ATB and use another skill. And why wouldn't you use all your ATBs during stagger? That's the best time to cash out. (No pun intended) It's the same damage as two Bravers at 500 base power, but takes more time and you can't interrupt yourself. And two bravers isn't even very good. Two aerial bravers do more, aerial onslaught/braver does more. Every character has the tools to do more than 1000 within a stagger window. If we had much higher stats, like 1500 attack power, and no access to break damage limit, I could agree. Can't argue with 50 hits that do 1700 damage each, but we can't ever do nearly that much and if we could, Infinity Edge would be hitting for 99,999 anyway. It's only 1000 power. The reason it's bad is because it takes forever.

@aethertruck it does over 300 damage per tick with the right stats and equipment without stagger (subject probably to enemy defenses. I've done about 16 or 17k damage without stagger with it (albeit with buffs) Also it doesn't have a fixed base damage it's stat dependent

@aethertruck also your arguments against it operate from a perspective where we can always equip genji gloves which is obviously not the case for a 3 person party You can't have 3 people with genji glove swiftcast maxed out magic damage, so spare change gives other setups/specs a novel way to break 9999 damage with 1 atb

@@zedzilla every ability has fixed base damage. Braver is 500, Spare Change is 100 per toss, Infinity Edge is 750 but it becomes 1364 during stagger. Idk what everything is. Some things stayed the same from Remake and some changed. I don't think it's all publicly documented yet for Rebirth. But the base damage is the number that a character's stats are multiplied against to do the damage. I tested Spare Change myself. It takes 5 tosses to do the same damage as Braver. But Spare Change can't crit, so a 5 toss is still worse than Braver on average. Sure a 10 toss does more but in the time it takes to do the extra tosses, you can use another Braver and build ATB, or aerial onslaught which is better. Yuffie can use Art of War-Supreme Art of War which is more than Spare Change and also doesn't get stifled by the damage limit because of multiple hits. Same with Red XIII and his first skill where he jumps in the air and flips, and Barret's maximum fury, and Aerith's Arcane Ward letting her cast twice, Cait Sith and Moogle Knuckle which hits twice and builds stagger bonus. Tifa can fury cancel and use use literally up to 5 divekicks. Spare Change doesn't gain the benefits of Elemental materia on weapon either. The argument that it can do 20,000 without genji gloves is silly because every character can use multiple skills in the time it takes to do a 10 toss. In a world where ATB generates 10% of the speed that it does in this game, Spare Change would be excellent. But there are so many tools to generate ridiculous ATB in this game so the idea that we should maximize damage per ATB at any cost isn't well supported. ATB Assist, Skill Master, ATB Stagger, lots of synergy skills, the haste spell. Tifa can literally use 6 ATB skills in a stagger window without stop or ATB assistance from other characters, just with fury cancels, Dragon Claws and a primed skill master materia. I'm not gonna say you can't make it work. You can make a spellcaster Tifa work. But it would be very silly to say that Tifa would perform best as a spellcaster. And it would be similarly wrong to say that Spare Change brings out the best in any character. Every single character can achieve better results without it.

@aethertruck tifa is a good spell caster in this game though because of unfettered fury's ability to gain big atb Her max magic damage is only a little below cloud's Not sure why you think she isn't a good caster tbh And again you're saying this like we don't have 3 people on the field in the time spare change is going the other 2 characters are able to gain their own atb, or even generate more atb for the spare change user It may not be the fastest possible source of damage but that doesn't mean it's bad
