Nice drive. Great tune too! Looking at this in December, Northern Europe makes me itchy for a drive in Spain. I will take a road trip late March, early April to Tarifa and then I will just chill in Spain for a month

You will like it, Andalusia is a great place. I went there in early June and it was already well over 30 C (but still snow on the Sierra Nevada!)

@@EuropeanRoads Have you ever tried walking anywhere? In many places you can’t even cross the road and the sound of the traffic is stressful.

The toll must be very expensive given the low traffic on this highway. It reminds me of another highway in Madrid and Toledo: the AP-41. It is super expensive, so empty! It is also empty because it was built right next to a free highway. This portion of the AP-7 has the same problem: a few km further, there is the A-7 which is free and parallel to the paid AP-7

mooie snelweg, heeft qua landschap en qua weg zelf veel weg van een andere snelweg begin Spanje (ik was er keer per toeval op omdat de gene achter het stuur ik was dus bijrijder) een afslag had gemist. ook allemaal tunnels en bergen en weinig bochten (dus zelfde als dit filmpje) enige verschil met dit filmpje is dat die tunnels stuk voor stuk lang waren tussen de 3 en ik dacht 9 kilometer. waardoor bij lange tunnel 5 ik midden op de dag in slaap viel. vind het wel bijzonder dat degene die toen juist achter het stuur zat wakker kon blijven. p.s dat was ook een Tolweg en die kwam uiteindelijk bij Burgos uit en begon bij Frankrijk (En nee het was niet de snelweg door de Pyreneeën met allemaal bochten). overigens is dat naar mijn weten ook geen tolweg.

Are the traffic lights for tunnel closures?

Yes, most tunnels in Spain have them. First there is a warning light that flashes orange, then a regular traffic light that is supposed to stop traffic in case of an incident.

I'm not sure I understand what you mean. There are not that many toll roads in Spain, most of the motorways are toll-free. Most toll roads are in the northeast and along the coast. Most motorways in the interior of Spain are untolled.

In Spain, they tried to toll free motorways (0,03 km) but people is very poor here, many people do 100km to work and pay 3€/day in a country when you earn less than 25 €, and rent cost is too expensive

@@hermenegildoc3933 Roads and highways are paid by the people via taxes (quite high btw) so there is no need for tolls. I wouldn't consider people in Spain (especially not Marbella lol) poor, most people earn €1200-1500 for unskilled jobs which is sufficient for a normal life in Spain.

High tolls? Come to Italy to the new A35 that connects Milan to Brescia, you'll pay 10,50€ for nearly 55km of motorway.

Nice video. I am very familiar with this road because I drive this every year on my way to Morocco. I know your channel is named European roads but why not take a trip to Morocco we also have some nice scenic highways.

Maybe I will do that someday :) I've seen photos of Moroccan A7 from Marrakesh to Agadir, it looks quite spectacular.

France toll is also expensive i head 1 that was 150/175KM and we payed 55,55€

you were probably charged as a bus or truck then... The toll rate in France is generally 8 - 12 cents per km, with a few exceptions. Nowhere would you pay € 55 for 150 km with a passenger car.
