We have to bring back the one from 1874-1931 today. Is beautiful. And at least it has lyrics. Outside politics, those of the republic are also very beautiful, and personally I like them more than those of the monarchies. If Spain one day is a pure Republic, I would use them as an anthem, but with different lyrics and rhythm, so as not to have links with the ideology of the Republicans of that time. It's either that or invent a completely new anthem.

There are some things wrong with this video so I'd like to spread some knowledge about it: - Excluding the "Himno de Riego", the Spanish anthem NEVER HAD OFFICIAL LYRICS. Some authors created some pruposals over the history but no one of this pruposals were officialy acepted ever. - There are recent discoverments which placed the origin of the Spanish anthem in an andalusi (Spanish arabian) song called 'Nuba Al Istiḥlāl' (you can search it as this in KZread). - The first version of the anthem, called "Marcha Granadera" or "Marcha de Granaderos" was originaly played only by fifes and drums, because it was an millitary march. You can hear it by searching 'Marcha de Granaderos 1761' on KZread. The one you included in the video is the "Honour March", later renamed as "Royal March", which is way more modern than the "Marcha Granadera" one. - During the Napoleonic Invasion, the anthem were more like I described in the previous point than the actual orchestral one (begginings of XX century). - The "Himno de Riego" wasnt official in any of the "Repúblicas" (1873-1874 and 1931-1939). It is widely recognized because it was the mostly used among the republicans in that periods, but the "Marcha Real" was also considered as official during that years. The only time in the history of Spain where the "Himno de Riego" became the only official anthem of Spain was during the 'Trienio Liberal' (1820-1823).

Officially, the current spanish anthem has no lyrics. You may hear wo wo, wO wo, wowowowowowowo, wowowO, wo wo, wowowowowowowOoO! Or sometimes the Franco version ☠️

Of course not, it is The Royal March (since 1770)..and the 19th century is adopted as National and of the King/Queen.. and in the Franco Period...and officially it is not until 1997...so the 20th century if we are precise
