Space Station 13 is a game that you're not going to understand unless you play. It's not a game you can learn by watching or reading, and it is a game you certainly won't master in your first day, week or month. Space station 13 is one of the most insane experiences of my life, a game that has occupied my time for over a decade now. Space station 13 is the roguelike of roguelikes for me, the most wonderful piece of human created madness, and certainly on equal footing with dwarf fortress in terms of sheer complexity.
However, byond is old as an engine, is limited in its own ways, and largely prevented a number of people from joining in. And thus, there was Space Station 14 - which is free and on steam! This open source monster replicates the madness and is the early version of what promises to be many decades of stupid just like its sire.
Join me in Space Station 14 friends. Be farty spacemen.

The edited voice filters for different types of talking were a nice touch. Though I do miss Goat singing for the credits.

For some reason, I almost thought this was going to be the shift where Cargo pretty much triage'd and evac'd the station after somebody blew up the entire east half. That was interesting to be a part of.

enjoyed the extra effort that went into the edits/ additional effects. I think it really added alot to the story
Where did the clown get the gold I have so many questions on where the cloud with the lisp source that much gold
Meat Clown in meat space is called Billy Roll and is made by Feldhues-Group if anyone wants to give the gift of meat clown to best of friends of worst of enemies.

mornin! i started playing SS13 like 3 days ago, man some of those goon servers are really power hungry, i was accused of harassment cause i said the words pretty lady. absolutely nuts man.....

Apparently on CM13 you can no longer say deltard. Some of the admis in various servers have been getting way too PC.

That's my only issue with gaming anymore. Too many squares coming in and trying to control everyone else's game. It's a game, FFS.

Whitelist servers and friends who play fix a lot of problems with community in ss13 if you can manage to get in one or start one. You really need to try very hard to gather a good population for that though.

Advertising reasons the other an uncommon but acceptable insult. Retard also literally means slow. The “retard is a slur” crowd can suck me linguistics and history are not on their side.

The editing REALLY helps with following what's going on. I'm not generally a fan of the 'wacky musical meme' editing (e.g. at 5:50, 6:20) but honestly I'd take that as the price of admission as the rest of it is superb. 9.5/10, fantastic improvement and especially so considering this is the first one with these edits that I've seen.

You know what? I’m doing it. Making SS 14 in Terra Invicta. Now. The real question I will solicit is what godforsaken rock will the station orbit? I’m voting for Ceres. Move freight. Miners do not die. And scientists MIGHT be making antimatter. Inefficiently.

Going from the hilarity of Tex to dead silence when I was expecting another gem song from goat was disturbing for some reason…
"Money is why we exist.." *ouch* I I know things have been on a real money-focused decline as of late.. but I darn felt that one. :(
I would love it if breakable stuff would start "floating" if you ran through it while gravity is off, and then falls and shatters when gravity comes back. Would necessitate grabbing it out of the air and putting it in a locker or setting it back down on a table.

Ha, I think that was my second game of SS14 with the AUX, and my first time working cargo. The joint at the start sent me for a loop. Took a while for that to wear off. It was a fun round and I didn't get my face eaten by a eight-legged clown like my first ever round. HAWKMEN! DIIIIVE!

Which servers would you recommend for beginners in SS14? I mean, who has the most helpful / lenient towards newplayer fuckups, community?

Personally id say the deltav servers. Very friendly and the rp-centric playstyle means you are far less likely to get buttblasted by a turbo greytider or shot by shitcurity

If you really want to learn mechanics and have an extended quiet time to learn, check out Frontier. They’re strict on rules but if you follow em you can learn things like science, salvaging, shuttle construction, botany and cooking without tiders tiding or engi singuloosing every 30 minutes. Also, use a-help if you’re truly new and lost. If the admins are worth the sweaty asses they sit upon they oughta help you out a little. Since joining that server I’ve mastered atmospherics wizardry and engineering, two jobs I find boring as shit on wizden. Tldr you can learn on any server if you ask questions and especially if you rp your confusion - make it funny. Being a total noob is a unique situation.

Are farts flammable in SS14? What’s the largest volume of space station that can filled with farts? If said volume were ignited, how much damage would be caused? I feel like the science department should look into these things. For reasons. I mean, if the the space station’s design is weak to fart explosion, that’s the kind of thing that should really be investigated. For safety. May need to restrict consumption of eggs and beans or something.
