Ever since I first watched it, I've always thought that this was the greatest KZread video ever made. I'm not saying that in a hyperbolic way, I honestly think that it's the best video ever made. It has, by nature of its location, a transcendence few KZread videos have or can really hope to have, and it makes perfect use of that. It elevates a song already generally well-known and beloved to a huge amount of people, to what feels, given the topic of the song, like what will be its ultimate state, at least for the foreseeable future. It is essentially the actualization of Space Oddity, or at least the closest we'll probably get for some time.

In an interview, this is what Chris had to say about Bowie: "Bowie described my song as the most poignant version of the song ever done, which just floored me. I think, for him, he knew he was ill - it was getting to the end of his life. He wrote that song at the beginning, when he was still 19 or 20, before we had even walked on the moon. He had always fantasied about flying in space - Starman, and Mars, and all that other stuff, and I think for him it was just like a gift, to have that song updated with the lyrics, performed actually in space, just a couple of years before he was taken. To me that might be the best part: that he got delight out of my particular version of the song."

According to him, none of the astronauts placed the guitar in the ISS. It was a NASA psychiatrist who put the guitar there. The psychiatrist obviously understood the importance of arts & entertainment in boosting the morale and productivity of its space occupants. I found out this trivia when he gave a talk recently in Vancouver. Canada. It was a very informative & lively talk. Certainly worth the $100 I paid for the ticket. I highly recommend it.

But never give up on this life either, I don't want to give false happiness as I know a lot of stuff is indeed impossible, but the possibilities are practically infinite right now. It's never 0 :) Someday, even if I'm not "me" I will go beyond the Earth
