I will never understand why B5 wasn't a bigger franchise. It is superior in so many ways to other sci-fi. I think if a studio really got behind it and dedicated the resources, B5 could be riding at the top of the recent sci-fi wave.

William Yount I think, if I recall, that they talked about their budget and how they worked in some run down factory warehouse that was converted to a sound stage, so that tells you the Network wasn't so happy to produce the show. I also think that there was some recent talk of doing a Kickstarter and trying to continue the story line, but who know. Thanks for the comment and watching. Please subscribe to our channel!

William Yount I think it was more about the fact that what made it great, made it too complicated for most. As a kid, I watch a few episodes and thought the show was okay, but I was mostly lost as to why characters did what they did. Partly because I only saw a few episodes, but now that I bought the B5 Ultimate Collection as an adult I think the story is very interesting and well done. Its actually strange that the real life ups and downs of some of the actors involved made the story arch much better. Overall, I think B5 was too complicated for kids, is what I am saying.

William Yount Because of its depth, it's the same reason most people in the world are not deep thinkers rather sheep. B5 was for people who loved sci-fi and embraced their "spiritual" ( for lack of a better term ) side. If you see the bigger, more beautiful side of a piece of art, then the minor inconsistencies ( such as production values ) pale in comparison to what is trying to be said. B5 is subtle sci fi embroidering all of the complexities we face in life.

Alkanphel U're right on the money, similar shows proved time and time again that the masses are not interested in quality sci-fi, but cheap thrills.

William Yount I agree it was way superior to Star Trek Next Generation since it had a continuity that was unbroken from the start everything had an explanation even if it was seasons after. Unlike Star Trek in general that had almost ZERO continuity.
RIP Stephen Furst, died a week ago, June 16th 2017.

Bruce was very gracious when talking about O'Hare. What a gentleman!
And we add Mira Furlan, Jan 20, 2021. "All life is transitory, a dream. We all come together in the same place, at the end of time. If I don't see you again here, I will see you in a little while, in a place where no shadows fall."
Wow, if Patricia would play Lyta again, you would see no difference to her portrayal 20 years ago. She looks amazing.

The lovely ladies all have aged well like fine wine, even more intoxicating.
When I was a teenager and watching Babylon 5 when it first came out, I had a huge crush on Lyta Alexander / Patricia Tallman. She had that black zip up top, tall slender figure and classically beautiful face. Now I see her twenty years later and you know what - she's even more beautiful than two decades ago! If I were to have dinner with her I would probably forget to eat.

i was also a teenager in the 90s watching b5 the first time around and cant say i ever found any of ladies very attractive. rewatching again in my mid 30s and they do seem to have got better with age( both in show and out of show so i guess its MY age we are talking about)

Best special effects on TV at the time. It's sad so many of the cast passed away, having the series in your collection is a must. B5 was amazing.

B5 still IS amazing ... because it is about STORYTELLING and CHARACTERS and not visuals. Sadly they didnt FULLY "follow through" with the whole "being scientific", because B5 and the earth cruisers would have had to have (at least) TWO COUNTER-ROTATING SECTIONS to counteract the momentum and keep the "central section" [cruisers] / "solar sails" [B5] from slowly starting to rotate themselves.
Londo and Vir are my favorite dynamic on the show.
I love this cast and I love this series. Some of the best science fiction ever written.
I believe that sci-fi writers have the ability to get out of their own ways and express deep teachings. B5 is one sci-fi that proves my point to the extreme. Almost every episode had a philosophical point that if caught actually gives a philosophy that can be lived. I say thank you to everyone who brought B5 to us.
This is just wonderful ... I cried like a baby watching the last episode... I can't watch it often unless I want to cry my eyes out:-) It has an absolutely brilliant ending and that shot watching the sunrise is breathtaking!!! I am a huge fan for life!

BeautybyRalu I also admit to blabbing like a child at the end of the 'sleeping in light episode', it was more emotional as JMS was the one to turn out the lights.

that's the mark of a good show with great characters, if you get to the end and the story starts wrapping up and characters start disappearing and it's emotional...that's an amazing show, Babylon 5 was, is amazing :]

@@reepacheirpfirewalker8629 The only show I've seen that has comparable writing is from Tony Gilroy on Andor. He's got mini 3 episode story arcs within the larger story leading up to the Rogue One film about how Leia and the Rebel Alliance got the schematics for the Death Star. Still, of them all, what JMS did with B5 is a morality tale that some favors come with a too high a price and that we truly understand and live by the Preamble of the Declaration of Principles that the Universe speaks in only one voice and that ultimately We are One.
Oh wow, how did I miss this gem? I loved that show so much. All the actors and actresses were so good and is one of my favorites still today. Miss you Babylon 5!

thanks for this meeting. I was 20 years when I watched babylon 5. I loved it
Really nice. Think Im gonna watch the series all over again.
I grew up watching Stephen on St Elsewhere and I loved listening to Jerry on the radio. Rip.
What a tremendous full lineup of guests! Star Trek conventions never have lineups as complete as this. These guys are all great sports! :) The only one missing was Jerry Doyle. (Of course, four of the cast members are sadly no longer with us: Richard Biggs, Andreas Katsulas, Michael O Hare, and Jeff Conaway). Until I watched this I had no idea that B5 was more popular in the UK. (I'm British too.)

I REALLY enjoyed this show. Bought the disc collection, now watch it with my son, second time through.
This is excellent quality. We need more Babylon 5 fans who have the skills to record an event of this quality for all those who cant attend. This means alot to us fans! Yes there are some mic issues but this is so much better than those who try to record on their mobile phones.

Babylon 5 is sort of like when you catch lightning in a bottle; not ever in a thousand years will you ever make it that perfect again.
I don't find myself drawn to these types of panels for the most part, but THIS would have been amazing to see in person. I also find it amazing that Bruce was taking a photos of the audience as well as the crew.
I first got to know Peter Jurasik from Babylon 5 but then realised later on he played Crom from Tron, one of my favourite films of all time and of course Bruce Boxlighner being in both as well.
This really made me feel good, like getting together with old friends.. wonderful show!

Got into it late in the series. Never seemed to see two or three at a time..could never find it!!! What an ODD and Really great great show. Actual values and meaning and FAITH in (to me) a TV show. Surprise. Thank you all you wonderful writers and actors I love that show.
Thank you all for sharing. 2021. I saw the show when it was new. But in 2020 I got to revisit it and it gave me diversion and perspective. Bad audio makes it hard to follow.
Gods. I loved this show and the actors so much. And I was genuinely interested in what they had to say. Guess you had to be there.
Such a great story and cast!
Bruce Boxleitner seems like such a great guy.
This was in GALVESTON, Texas...and I am honored to have been about even with the cluster of cameras.
love them all.
Loved this show and this video makes me love it even more.
So miss these folks! Glad stuff like this is available for viewing! Don't get to attend any of the conventions so these videos are my conventions 😀
One of the best SciFi series that so many people never saw.

Was an amazing event. Despite what went wrong with Space City Con...I will always be grateful for what they did that weekend!!!
For a reunion like this to have such technical issues is near unforgivable. Good lord.
Wow, 18:14 was such a good story! I've never seen the cast speaking in real life before but after watching this I now ADORE Stephen Furst. All his bits were my favourite. :)
So cool to see all of them again ... :)
I know the sound quality is bad, but it is so good to see the actors as themselves and without the barrier of a desk. I don't think I've ever seen or heard N'toth out of costume before, or Bill Mumy with hair! I recently loaned out my DVD sets to some friends and they've really got into the show. Having fallen in love with it so long ago it seems strange now having friends to discuss it with, but it appears the actors' fondness for it (and one another) has endured. If any of you read these comments: You're characters are still catching peoples' imagination.

differous01 Sorry about the audio. As you saw there was a limited amount of microphones for a rather large panel. ***** Mumy's career actually goes back farther than that..at least to a Twilight Zone episode where he is an omnipotent little monster controlling a group of adults. He has the most extensive scifi creds on the panel.
wow ... watched the serial at end of the 90's
Thanks to All these Marvellous Actors for Coming and Sharing their Feelings and Experience to their Fans. Thanks also to the team show for having made it possible :) and Thanks A Whole Lot to Jo for his Meaningful Creation 😍 PS: I shall soon purchase some other B5 Stuffs so You can be Supported and Rewarded for The Very Positive You Gave Us through this series ;) 🤗🤗🤗
JMS's message was almost eerily prescient.
My father looks a bit like Jason Carter, hair, build and beard, I still find it amusing all these years later. Also I am not afraid to admit I cried when Marcus sacrificed himself and when Sheriden went beyond the Rim.
captain Sheridan looks unbelievable for his age.......way to go tron. He can reprise his role if he wanted to. Actually many of them aged very well. I would love a blu-ray release with all the special effects re-done in HD.
Shocking! The crowd did not react when Boxleitner mentioned the two parter (War Without End) one of the best 2 structured scripts (Blink from Dr Who being the other one) featuring Michael O'Hara's return.Truly a mind bowing episode!

well what can i say was good to see the cast together again, also misses the loss of Richard Biggs,Andreas Katsulas, Jeff Conaway, Tim Choate and Micheal O'Hare who have left for the rim. love the stand up hands up test, trust JMS to come up with that one. The spoofs of the shows are absolute creases ya got to watch those. Ty B5 team. Will keep watching the shows for much much longer.

god, how good was the actor who did G'kar.. and when him and londo got together! such great performances
started re-watching this a little while ago, halfway through third season and it just gets better and better with each episode building the story and characters.. i love it, a great job they all did.. classic though.. i started watching cos i noticed it on freevee viewing with adverts on my Amazon streaming app.. great i thought.. don't hold out much for modern stuff but this is just what i want.. i watched two episodes i think? ..and Amazon decided to switch it to a paid show! days after I had just found it...! absolute classic.. so i bought it on Google..
Is it me or is Patricia still ridiculously beautiful
omg memories. we will just wait for what the wise kosh would say.
Mira was 59 years old here.
Loved Babylon 5 . The sound was bad and you can see how frustrated some of the actors got.

A thought that is all too relevant in 2018... Pass it on.
one of the few times all surviving main cast got together
Tracey Scoggins is totally insane. I wish I could meet her. Did anyone notice how Boxlieter is so quiet?
2nd B5 convention with lacking stage sound. Feel sorry for the actors, again. As for video audio, that can be enhanced. I did it for another YT video with software. Anyway, thanks for the video, really enjoy seeing this cast together
Words from JMS ring so true in these times now.
Woah, they even had Zoey (Bridget Flanery) from 'Day of the Dead'. She played a powerful role. That's the thing, B5 strived to keep it real. What's more real than a suicidal overdose because a person is tired of starving while being dope-sick. Its easy to judge addicts but to many of them, started casually. They didn't plan on being drafted into the hustle in order to fund their addiction. Some of them really want to stop but doing that results in withdrawal symptoms. Those symptoms include diarrhea coupled with a sense of depression at the minimum.
Great to see them, but the technical MESS that this place created was SO unprofessional. No monitors, no one being able to hear each other, the frustration was obvious and it was very irritating, I felt for the actors trying to control their obvious frustration at the horrible tech support for this show. I would have been furious.
