SPACE BATTLESHIP YAMATO 1/350 BUILD - TIME LAPSE

Фильм және анимация

Lance Wolf (Concept Artist, Illustrator) presents a time lapse video documenting the 27 days which it took to build SPACE BATTLESHIP YAMATO 1/350 scale model kit - from opening of the box to the finished model's completion.
1/350 Space Battleship Yamato by Bandai
There have been many, many Space Battleship Yamato models--Yamato is, after all, a seminal anime series--but Bandai is really pulling out all the stops for this Yamato extravaganza! This giant 1/350 scale model kit (766mm in length--that's just over 2 1/2 feet long!) helps you relive the experience of watching Yamato, with all of its drama, romance and adventure. It's truly a must-have for those of us who have never been able to forget the many voyages of the Yamato and her valiant crew.

    Thank you so much for the comment. Be careful the model is incredibly sensitive to various types of hot glue. The engine cone cracked after I applied very little hot glue. Thanks again and good luck with your model.

    Great vid man! When I did my 1/350 Yamato many years ago, I'll never forget the hardest part... Having to paint the 3 white concentric circles on each of the shock cannon barrels perfectly... I forgot to paint them before mounting them... and painting them dead last was a real labor of love... It was such a bitchin model... had it for years... it got crushed in a move... totally sucked...

    In space I think the yamato's teakwood decks would crack due to space sucking the moisture out of everything they must have had to epoxy the cheekwood decks to keep them from cracking in the vacuum of space

    I’m so glad you like it. The1/350 Space Battleship Yamato is by Bandai. It cost me $720.00 plus shipping which brought it up to $1,200.00 altogether. It came from Hobby Link Japan back in 2012. Be careful when using glue, Cyanoacrylates doesn't react well with the plastic. It cracked the engine exhaust nozzle which you can see me repair in the video, hope this helps.

    Does this model require painting or glue? Or how is it I'm new to this type of hobby and I love the S BB Yamato but I want a little info before spending 300 dollars

  • @Ironwolf_Productions

    @Ironwolf_Productions

    Texshi Barrett Thanks for asking. The model itself does not need painting, but it's totally up to you whether or not you want to paint it. For instance, I painted the gun barrels to add char marks, and engine cone for the same effect. However, it does require some glue, but make sure it's not crazy or hot glue. That caused some problems, which I talk about in the "Secrets of" video: kzread.info/dash/bejne/oWl5zcOrk6q6g84.html, at the 5:30 mark.

    Ironwolfproductions1 could you recommend the glue you used and tools to break the pieces off? I'm either going to get this version or the slightly smaller 1/500 I sure ain't no electrician and I doubt those instructions are English but thank you for the response

  • @Ironwolf_Productions

    Texshi Barrett The glue I would recommend is Testors non-toxic cement glue for plastic models. Now this is a slow drying glue but it will not fog your parts. As for the tools I recommend Fiskars Titanium Nitrate Heavy Duty Craft Scissors and Fiskars Heavy Duty Cast Craft Knife. These last the longest and stay the sharpest. I use the scissors to cut beyond the part and the cutting knife to shave off the excess. Make sure the blades are really sharp. I hope this helps. Thanks again for watching.
