At the Spa Valley Railway Winter Steam Gala on February 10th 2024, Battle of Britain Class locomotive No 34072 "257 Squadron" is seen leaving Eridge with a train to Tunbridge Wells West diguised as it's long lost fleetmate No 34066 "Spitfire". The original "Spitfire" gained renown for it's part in the Lewisham Disaster in the 1950s when it crashed into an electric train at St John's station with considerable loss of life.
