Listening to another band after listening to Southern University is like listening to the radio and and then listening to a marching band.... SU with the W but that Jesus Promise was really cute 😌

When your marching band opens with “Jamiroquai” British jazz-funk, That’s the warning ⚠️ shot. Alcorn should have sat back and enjoyed the show... SU PLAYED THEIR ASS OFF WITH CONFIDENCE 🎥💛💙👏🏽

Southern's sound is just on another level. Truly. They are head and shoulders above the rest. I mean, the difference has never been more clear. For a band that has always had a great sound, they somehow took it to another level. Clarity, phrasing, balance, power, with all the confidence in the world in knowing they've put in the work to be the absolute best band on the field.. SU has it all. I have not heard one band out there that is even close.

Your arranger is everything to a group of musicians. It’s not that Alcorn isn’t good, the arrangements are just 100 times better coming across the field. They took an L after Southerns first selection.

I posted this statement on another vid and I think you are spot on. Just with this selection (playing it back at Alcorn) you can hear the level of excellent Southern as a whole verse other bands. The arrangements and most important the execution, balance makes them great. Not taking anything from Alcorn, they are a great college band but Southern is like a professional group of musicians. Jut my opinion. The major difference between these marching bands when the 5th quarter comes other bands has played their best. Southern is like a grown woman and man when it's nighttime(5th quarter) it's time to put the kids to bed and take it to another level. That is called WAR, SU style.

I'm starting to think a lot of people in the comment section are biased because this is an SU Band page. 🤔 (Waits for a neutral page to post this)

Wow. This was too easy for the S. Disappointingly, Alcorn is the best band they will see all season. The rest of the season is going be a breeze. I really need EVERYONE else to step it up so I can see the Jukebox in a REAL battle. Maybe I'll get my wish in next week in New Orleans.

I hope you're right, my friend. I would normally say the Boom is the best band they'll see all season. I've always looked forward to the Boombox Classic as I've always considered the Jukebox and the Boom as the top two bands in the HBCU world but the last several years haven't lived up to the heated history. Perhaps that's due to all the leadership changes at JSU, I don't know. But Alcorn has been on a come up over the last few years and they've stood up to the Jukebox better than anybody in more recent times. Who do you believe will give the Jukebox the best run this season?
