Alcorn sounds good and clean, but SU has taken its game up 2 more levels!!! I don't think anybody is ready for SU...IJS!!!

I do too...I love SU but I like to see all SWAC schools on point..makes for good battles...hoping to see Texas Southern siting this year lol

Alcorn didnt back down but the book just couldnt match.

This was a loonnnng 5th man lol.. Asu did very well they are coming up!!! BUT SU just on another level these dudes showed out last night. This had to be the best battle SU has ever had with sod.. Great battle!!! But overall SU was just too powerful

WE ARE ONE ! ! ! WOW ! I've told folks for a few years now that SOD was coming up and they laughed. Kinda wish they'd gone a different direction with the uniforms but they still look good. Overall , they were no match for SU. Southern is on some other stuff & getting better & better.

2016 and its still almost impossible for any band to respond to this.. a bold "you really dont want these problems" opening statement from SU. 💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽

Alcorn's upper brass sound like they are using toy horns. The baritones and trombones are holding the band down. The volume got softer and softer with each song. SU just have incredible stamina and great balance.

Both bands sound good. Alcorn has some great balance. SU has that Power. They both did a great job.

God damn SU. I've always been a JSU fan, but this year Southern has won me over! Them tubas at the beginning of testify!!! So full and strong. Sounds like 50 of em

Wow! SU is better in every way this year. This is probably the best their trumpet section has been in a few years. I have yet to hear a clip with any trumpet hangovers or misses. And their book and arrangements are incredible!!

Clearly SU won this bout by song selection, arrangements and the timing and phrasing with the dynamics. Not saying that Alcorn suck or sound bad in fact I like the new uniforms and sound y'all produce. Damn good battle though

Both bands did an amazing job, but SUs arranger is making this band unstoppable..

They both were good but you can see that alcorn has a couple horn holders but they did tend to carry the sound good job alcorn! Southern i didnt see anything wrong forreal except the chant part/dance some people wasnt doing it but over all excellent balanced and powerful extraordinary job southern! Ill be there in 2years 😚😚😜😜📯🎺🎵🎼🎶

Alcorn played out of character. They tried to outblow SU.. That'll never happen. N when they did that, they sacrificed sound quality.. SU produces power with clarity and quality! Alcorn is on the come up. But u can't put them in the same bracket as SU. Just being real.

in a band battle it comes down IMO to what song is played after the other. if we based this battle on round 1 SU Beyond vs ASU Master Blaster 1st off I wouldn't have played master blaster after beyond that's like playing Espn after a March or something. then as a person who has played a more collegiate arrangement of Master Blaster in high school it should have never been played at all. over everything it was an ok battle but im a true SWAC fan 90s era real battles every week now a days its lets wait for the BoomBoxClassic SMH

SU had em a long time yes and there is no need for SU to change to brass or chrome tubas cause even if they was it would still be the same outcome they would still be loud

I would like to thank the arranger of SU'S music. This gives those up and coming music arrangers aomething to shoot for. This battle was clearly no contest and ALCORN will never be a considerable match. And if this hurt any bias ALCORN FANS out there oh well, it is what it is. Alcorn is just not on SU'S LEVEL POINT BLANK.
