Pro Tip: Make the stock before you start cleaning the collards so it can start boiling down while youre cleaning them. It streamlines the process a bit better.

Girl what you talking!! I love my grandma southern cooking!
You give so much humor and charisma as you give instructions in cooking.... I love it!!!!!😂
OMG!!! Why am I just now finding you on YT!??? It was with your Mac & Cheese video tho and I said, that's it! I'd been looking at different videos for years and never once thought this is it... Then I subscribed to your channel and saw this video and was like OMG again! Baybe... you the chef! I love the way you cook and look forward to binge watching all your videos with my daughter. Shes 28 and I'm trying to help her with recipies, as she needs to learn to cook some things for her little family while I'm still here to guide her. Thank you soooo much for sharing these awesome recipies! 💕🙏🏽🥰
Cleaning greens, shucking corn, and snapping peas was a part of my childhood. And the greens I had was fresh from the garden and had we called green bugs on em. I wouldn’t take my childhood back for nothing

Lil China, I agree with you. Always get a man that can cook, or don't mind helping. Because for me, if I'm working, and he expects me to do all of the cooking, well we will not be together. In my family, everybody cooked, the men and women. My husband cooked too, and was a great cook.

Just cooked this, and am totally stuffed. It was so good couldn't stop eating it. Cant get collards here, as I live in Germany, so used grünchol which is similar. Thanks for a yummy recipe. Next up gonna try your oxtails.
I made your greens for thanksgiving and don’t know how to post the picture. They were delish - thank you!

OMG I followed this recipe for Thanksgiving and it was a hit. I couldn't believe how sweet and tasteful the water was after boiling the shallots and veggies together. Thanks you sooooo much.
🤤🤤 This is how my grandpa made his collards. I miss him so much!
Wow I've never thought of putting those aromatics in my broth. Looks good enough to drink 😋
This looks completely delicious. BTW, there's waaaay more sodium in the chicken boullion and base than the ham hocks, for anyone watching their sodium.
My Granny taught me to throw a small box of frozen spinach in the pot. It helps make the greens tender.....she said. I just do what she told me to do. Greens are always slamming... so who tf am I to question?
Wooo Lord thank you 🙏🏽 for Big Mama and Grandmama for loving me enough to clean them right ❤
Just by looking at the finished greens, made me hungry too. Keep the videos coming.
Adding those veggies for flavor is a great idea. I will be trying your way. This looks delicious.
Now that’s good old fashioned southern style collard greens 🥬😊
Okay!! This is the best Collards video I've seen! Thank you for making this so easy to follow! I like the way you explain 'why' you have to do things this way. I am more confident to try my own. I ate them when I lived in South Carolina, and they were amazing! I live up North now, but I've never forgot them Collards. That's how good they were!!
You cleaned & cooked the hell out of those greens!!!! 🤗

Hi ty love your cooking videos you are a real cook
I mix turnip and mustard greens 🥬 with ham hock sometimes bacon and my seasonings are only salt and sugar blended to a terrific taste 😊
Love this recipe! Before I add the greens to the pot I usually sauté red and orange bell peppers, 1/2 lb of bacon cut up along with the shallots and onions. Then basically do the same thing you do in the seasonings and the smoked ham hocks.
This looks amazing and I can’t wait to try cooking it
Thank you for sharing this recipe! I always use this recipe when I'm making collard greens.
