Made this for dinner last night. I didn't have Luck's pinto beans or the crream of mushroom soup. I used jalapeno ranch beans and cream of chicken soup instead and this casseerole was a big hit. My grown up sons ate the whole casserole and were very vocal about how great it tasted. Lots of compliments and requests to save the recipe. Thanks!!!❤❤❤

I made it and it is delicious! I had to make some alternatives in it however: 1)Even though Im not a big bean person I used a regular can of beans that didnt have pork in it and added a maple smokehouse seasoning to the beans and simmered it first to get that pork flavor. I didnt think it would be good with the beans but it is and it works in this. 2) I couldnt find the cream of mushroom soup with garlic so I used a regular can of cream of mushroom and then added my own homemade powdered garlic from my garden to make up for it. 3) I used turkey hamburger instead of beef. He didnt say what kind of cheese so I used 2 different ones. Thanks for the recipe!

CANNOT wait to try this! There's SO MANY hamburger potato casseroles, all with variations, no 2 are exactly alike, and we love them ALL!!! And just hubby & me, plus take small plates to my Momma in the nursing home- (who eats like a bird, but loves that I make the dish, then take it to her the next day- she swears she gets the better end of the deal bc dishes like these only get better the 2nd & 3rd days!) AND what a way to stretch a buck! The 3 of us can eat on that at least 3 times! Cook once & 3 people eat 3 nights??? No Sir, It DOES NOT get better than that!!!! Only thing I'll be changing is crunching some broken up Fritos over my sour cream!! (Love me some crunch on top of casseroles!) And maybe? Maybe, not sure just yet, but possibly a dash of good, mild salsa, or even a dash of A1. Dishes like this remind me of- basically like a gourmet cheeseburger & fries- only broke down in casserole form, and that's the very best way! Yummolicious!!!!! But damn it man, now you've got me starving when I should be sleeping!!! 😜🤣😉

I used Montreal seasoning as suggested, but I also added about a teaspoon of smoked chili powder. This is one of those recipes that lends itself to playing with the seasoning a little. Very easy to make and A+ for taste. Highly recommended!

☹ made me sad to read this i pray you get better, & your appetite come back. my dad is going through a tough time he was diagnosed with oral cancer & is on his 2nd week of chemo & radiation and can only have liquid soups because his mouth is swollen on the inside. He was talking about wanting to go to his favorite restaurant & eat fried fish, its gonna be a good while before that happens😔

Man I had my doubts at first. I thought “cream of mushroom and pork and beans DO NOT go together” but I decided to try it anyways and holy $hit! The flavor is AMAZING! Kids loved it! And the hardest part of cooking it, was finding the can opener. Simple, delicious recipe! A++

Thanks for trying it with the beans..I guess the beans threw alot of people off and they tried it without the beans and said it was great..But I think the beans is what makes this alot better ..I'm glad yall like it...Thank you

@Kyu T Lee I'm going to make it both ways. If it works both ways I may x2 the recipe and use a can of each. That's the best part of cooking: coming up with new dishes.

Cream of mushroom soup is the only way I can make my "super secret" sausage gravy. :-) I think it's invaded all 50 states.

Yes, this is so true - we put in our Pork Chops gravy; we put in our Chicken & Rice and others (Minnesota Girl, now Portland OR). Gosh I like this guy's accent. Makes me happy for some reason - fun to listen to. :) Definitely going to try this dish!!! Comfort food!! :)

My kids use to say they didn't like mushrooms or onions so when they asked what was in it I'd say Cream Of Soup.... they loved it!
