He played like this because South Hampton allowed him to play like that. If they played Man City Werner nowhere would be found. And considering that at best only 1 of ten his shots gets between the pipes, and almost all of those ones get into goalie or defender.

The big thing I was looking for was the confidence, and I saw it from minute one. That first goal was prime Leipzig era Werner. Even the woodwork hits were quick, confident runs that showed real intent. If he can maintain this type of energy, the goals will follow. It’s a big “if,” but we’ll see.

Mason Mount is a Chelsea Legend. What a response. What a win!💙💙

Timo's first goal is the reason why we call him Turbo Timo! Fantastic run and individual performance.

10 months ago we were beating this team 6-0 right now its doing us home and away,this is just getting really bad

The front three of timo, kai & mount reminds me of last season, wow! didn't realize how much I missed that. Great attacking football. RLC at the rwb was a pleasant surprise and our away fans are an absolute delight. 102 goals for chelsea in all comps this season. Not bad. Out of timo's 9 pl goals, 5 of them have come against southampton.

Goals against Southampton, Newcastle, Burnley, Everton, Luton, Morcambe. Is that why you pay 50m for a striker? You wish to win PL title with 6 goal striker in 47 matches? He hasn’t started and it’s his own doing. You think other players will sit on the bench while your pathetic striker gets rewarded with starts for missing chances? What does not starting matches have to do with missing clear cut tap ins? He needs to have his contract terminated if no one buys him. He’s been that poor.

werner was absolutely incredible this game. this is why we bought him. if he played close to this level every game he would be world class.

It was no doubt a vintage Timo Werner game. It's almost like he was making a satirical performance of himself. beats everyone hits left post.... right in front of goal hits crossbar .... beats everyone hits right post. gotta admit it's kinda funny but I'm glad he scored. he definitely deserved it. great goal by the way but he should have had at least 4.

Werner main problem is him. If he never missed so many open chances Lukaku wouldn’t be here, so he would be getting better.
