I asked at the Camping and Caravan Show as to why touring caravans were almost always white and not any other colour, maybe even painted to match their owner's cars? The answer unsurprisingly is heat. If they were painted say a dark green, they'd be like ovens. Burnbake Forest campsite is very cool and relaxed and even has a resident stag that wanders among the tents. No caravans allowed. Well recommended.

When I stayed in Swanage last summer, I had no idea about Old Harry Rocks at all which can't be seen from the beach. All I knew was that my plan for the following day was to find a route up to the end of that cliff seen on the left side of the bay so Old Harry was a lovely surprise. I think I took a different route up. Took the steam train to Corfe & the castle the following day but weather wasn't great. I was very lucky to arrive during the last 20 mins of the falconry display which was great fun to watch with one of five perigrin falcons swooping over our heads as we sat on the hill.

Great video Abbie. Fantastic views, but put my teeth on edge a bit when you stood on that path at Old Harry’s Rocks with a sheer drop either side! Must be an age thing. When I was about your age I went to Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe with my Dad. There was no consideration for safety there and I went and sat right at the edge. I turned around to see my Dad looking a bit green and saying “Come away from the edge a bit please mate!” 😂😂😂🤣

Just love your joy and enthusiasm for a trail, vastly superior than Julia Bradbury's walking programs on the BBC. Your nitration is informative, interesting and really gives you a great sense of feeling for a trail. You should try the Southern Upland Way if you haven't done it already, be warned it's a bit of a beast and makes the Pennine Way feel a walk in the park.

Great video, Abbie. I did a coastal walk from a campsite at Harman's Cross two years ago, all the way to Old Harry Rocks. For my return, I could've backtracked to Swanage and caught the train direct to the campsite... But I couldn't resist a walk along the Purbeck ridge! :-) I also found it hard to follow the coast path through that built-up area... I ended up beside a corner shop, somehow, before eventually finding my way up to the cliffs. I didn't have your courage to walk along that ridge though!! ;-) If you ever visit the National Trust house Kingston Lacy (which also belonged to the Banks family), you'll find the original keys to Corfe Castle are on display on one of the walls!

At the risk of appearing po-faced, pirates were thieves, plain and simple. Don't swallow the Disneyfied image of them...
