I actually liked the battly system of The Stick Of Truth more, you had way more different attacks per battle and the quicktime events were more fun and difficult

Umm not really stick of truth is a cake walk even in hardcore the game was way way way too easy I feel like then need a harder mode for the next one if there is one

Although I think the combat was dramatically improved in FBW, some of the fights dragged on and on. I preferred SOT. Also, I almost never laughed while playing FBW. The story was kind of boring. I did find some things amusing in FBH, like the LEGOs being lava, but nothing made me laugh like SOT. I did play the games back to back this month, so maybe I just got burnt out playing FBH.

I liked the battle system in Stick of Truth, but it got way too easy too quickly. FbW you had to be more strategic and it felt like MUCH more of a challenge on the hardest difficulty.

The combat was such an improvement. If you start the game on the hardest difficulty with no unlocks some of the battles are epic encounters where a single wrong movement can wipe your whole team. You become reliant on consumables, which become scarce and encourage you to farm for cash and materials before heading into the next phase of the main story. That’s what makes this a great RPG for me. The DLC’s have the hardest battle encounters of the game, and are well worth playing.

The single flaw that REALLY drags this game down for me is the ending, its just weird and unsatisfying.

The point of it is supposed to be weird and unsatisfying. In South Park episodes, most end off in an absurd fashion. This is no different, as it's literally a playable South Park episode

As someone who is emotionally reliant on South Park this game made me unbelievably happy and pushed my suicide back by at least 4 months

I've honestly played this game fully through 5 times now and I also completed every single achievement. It's genuinely my favourite game ever and I'm so excited for the next game

I greatly preferred the combat of the first game, but the new stuff was still fun too. Love me some Paper Mario combat.

I can understand. You do go back in time and fight yourselves and the Stick of Truth versions of your partners. You get a good feeling of what it would be like if Ubisoft San Francisco and South Park Digital Studios continued with the Stick of Truth plot

this is literally my favorite game not my favorite south park game, or my favorite game based on another media my favorite game in general i love the customization options, i love the setting, and i obviously love everything south-park related it carries(map, characters, that sorta stuff) i've played and replayed this over 20 times and only now am i getting tired of it, the replayability factor is super well done tbh

I'm in the minority for liking this one more than the original. More stuff to do, I like the story more and superheroes have always been a favorite of mine. I have never been a fan of fantasy even with a South Park twist.

this game made me realize... south park needs more mitch conner! there is so much potential in this character

On PC, the controls have been so simplified that you can play with only your left hand. No need for the mouse

No-one played SoT for the combat. Not that's there's anything wrong with semi-turn based. It worked for Paper Mario.

I keep seeing people say this is the best south park game, but honestly, I much prefer stick of truth, it's just better in every way

I kinda felt the final battles were underwhelming, except for Casa Bonitas. Weve already beaten timmy in the main game so alien controlling timmy doesnt seem like, that much worse. And Mitch Conner and Kyle's mitch conner isnt like... that different from the last fight it feels like a formallity and the real last fight was King Douchebag or something.

I will say that I was happy purchasing it off of steam for around $15-20 for just the base game. But if you unsure at that price point, I’m sure there will be a a better sale for the summer

I really disliked the battle system in the new game. Just couldn’t really get on board with it.

Fractured but whole is better then first part cuz it's longer

biggest 2 issues with the game; ending is a little weird and convoluted when compared to the first game AND (and this nearly made me quit the game) ubisoft is unable to make a game not riddled with bugs. Some absolutely game breaking bugs.

The fractured but while, was, while certainly good, and in no way a disappointment, it also didn't wow me. My expectations were high and while they certainly were fulfilled I wasn't blown away Very picky of me and definitely unfair but it is the truth.

This was actually a very good game. The ending was a let down tho

This game is way superior in almost everything to The Stick of Truth and yet… I don’t like it. TSoT was amazing for its simplicity and the world felt more like an episode of South Park, while this one feels like tries to bite more than can chew… If you’re not at day with the series then you really feel lost at some times, specially when you get stablished this game continues exactly a day after the finish of the other one, but immediately have something core like PC principal, the wall on Canada or many other characters who had evolved for that time. Now for the combat I get it, it’s more complex, gives you more options and different ways of play it, if you really aren’t into this type of gameplay it’s gonna cost you to get it almost after day two of the game. There’s just so much at times that it’s just not well explained. Finally the theme of the game: I get it, this was released in the highest of the Superhero fever and some jokes are actually really good about it, but it gets to a point where you kinda get bored of it, even for the game itself. While in the Stick of Truth it was more lightweight and feel more creative from the kids and their imagination (the castles, cantina, Jimmy’s Fast Travel, environments in general). Don’t get me wrong, The Fractured But Whole is an amazing game for a South Park fan, you get x10 times more of what you had on The Stick of Truth and gonna get A LOT of laughs, enjoy the combat, kick Butters dad and if you love the superhero theme (specially from the Coon and friends episodes) then THIS IS YOUR GAME. But if you like more of the “classic” world building South Park then go for The Stick of Truth.

It's definitely great but its certainly not perfect. The story is definitely lacking in this one in comparison to Stick of Truth

I disagree. This was a good South Park game but that’s the difference between this game and the first one. The stick of truth felt like THE South Park game. This one just felt like A South Park game.

New combat system sucks. At least paying stick of truth I didn't have to totally restart my game because a level was unbeatable with my choices made.

I have to respectfully disagree. In the Fractured But Whole, you can change your classes and modify your attacks and ultimates. And you can tailor which group members work best with your character’s attack patterns/abilities. The two fighting systems are very different though because the purpose of The Fractured But Whole’s combat system is map manipulation and knowing how your partners and characters attack/move. The Stick of Truth is more focused on stacking damage effects (bleeding/sickness etc). And you’re restricted to one class and bounded more closely with items/armor that boosts your specific class. I like both combat systems to be honest. But i think Fractured But Whole gives you more freedom incase you don’t like your class.
