South Carolina Shelling on Edisto Island | Beautiful Beach and tons of shells!

Shelling on the Atlantic Coast is always an adventure - you never really know what you are going to get! I had so much fun on Edisto Island despite having sand blowing in my eyes and exfoliating my skin😜 I had a lovely long drive down to the beach and enjoyed this shelling day so much!

Well it seems to be an oyster bed! Along with a lot of broken shells. I'm surprised with all that you did find! Impressive.

Yes! It was challenging to find some good ones, but I think I would have spent more time digging through the piles if the sand wasn't whipping so hard! 😜

With all of the broken shells, I was expecting to see more sea glass. It would be really cool to see a video of a project with some of your finds. Thank you for sharing. Peace and Safe Travels -Craig

You know, sea glass is getting harder and harder to find (recycling!). Also this area wasn't really near a marina or heavy boat traffic. I always have the best luck when there is lots and lots of boats! Thanks for watching friends!😊

Ever since they outlawed glass bottles on the beach it is really really rare to find sea glass on Edisto. Whenever I find some I always get so excited because it is that rare there.

I really enjoyed this video. It's my "happy place"! I just came back from Edisto spending the July 4th Holiday. First time ever in 50+ years I hardly found any shells. Normally I come home with so many shells like whelk, olives etc. After storms it's amazing. Can't wait to see your Hunting Island video. That place is beautiful. Small shells but the beach and island is gorgeous. Thanks for the adventure.

Isn't it interesting how the beach changes with the winds and storms - I guess I was lucky that there were shells when I was there! Looking forward to a return visit in the future!😊 Thank you for the kind words and for watching!😊

@@TravelingTreasureFinder If you keep walking way down the beach at the State Park down to Jeremy Inlet you would find many many much better shells. Go at low tide and cross the inlet to Jeremy Cay and it is even better

@@fredamoore1743 yes! Jeremy Cay is the best to go to! One of my sons gifted me a family trip there in May! I have not been there since 2018 so I am beyond excited. I know you had a wonderful time there at Thanksgiving!

Love love love the low country hope y’all get to eat some of the food and see all the history. And Edesto does have great shells. Maybe just not the day you were there. But so glad you are there. One of my Favorite places. Also you can take boats out to the Barrier island t
