After leaving the fish in the salt water for a day, move them to another holding cell, placing a press made of wood on top of the stacked up fish in order to compress the air out of the fish to prevent it from going bad. Leave for 3 days. After 3 days, take a fish needle and string up a bundle of 10 fish to be hung out to dry for 5 days. After the fish is dried, peel and package it.

Coloureds refers to members of multiracial ethnic communities in Southern Africa who may have ancestry from more than one of the various populations inhabiting the region, including African, European, and Asian. South Africa's Coloured people are regarded as having some of the most diverse genetic background.

The Couloured people in South Africa are AWESOME!
As a South African abroad I immensely enjoyed this little food “flick”. You pull out the humor of the people which is one of the best things there. Especially the very dry wit of the Malay cook. We have a very dry wit that can be rude at times but it works in SA. Cheers for the great show.
I suggest you all watch the video before getting worked up about the videos title. “Coloured People” (in this case) isnt being used as a derogatory term. i'm sure not a single person thought it would be a racist video. completely besides the point it's archaic racist terminology that shouldn't be okay to say. while some people may not be upset by it their grandparents and great grandparents might. was and is literally a racial slur.
@jeanj753
Жыл бұрын
@@thatdudebro Are you South African? Well I am, I am also coloured. Unlike the US where it has been used as a derogatory word, over here in SA we are proud of it, the word coloured has no foul meanings, it is who we are. Please do not assume it is racist here, and most definitely, do not assume you can cancel our culture!
@KoKoTheSagittarius
Жыл бұрын
@@thatdudebro are you even a person of color and from where are you from? Asking because as a person of color, I don't see how it's offensive. America we say people of color, which isn't offensive at all. Here they say colored, which is the same only they're speaking of a *specific* tribe, region, or community. Just like one can be Black but not an African American. Instead of saying they're Black (or African American), they say they're Jamaican.
@SpoojFritter
Жыл бұрын
@@thatdudebro The point is that it is not a racial slur in South Africa, so South African grandparents and great-grandparents would not be offended now would they?. It is what that group of people call themselves, the world doesn't revolve around the USA and their terminology. That being said - even 25 years ago in the USA if you called someone who is black a 'Person of Colour', that would have been offensive, now for some reason it is not. Goalposts get moved all the time. Stop getting offended on other peoples behalf, especially when they are not offended themselves.

It's amazing how AFRICA, and South Africa especially are shown as downtrodden and "3rd world" here in the states. Then you pull up videos like this in their 6 part series and see the beauty of the areas. Even in this video, look how vibrant and bustling the area is. The beautiful beaches and how this whole area is nestled in the hills and the city is exciting and the size of the homes. Seriously, that house she's in would go for 400-600k here in NC, 2 million in NY and maybe 4 million in CA. It's crazy. Kudos to the team on yet another stellar show and congrats on the 10million subscribers. WOW.

I’m from the Cape born and bred but live in Spain and miss all the lekkergoed as the Afrikaaners say. The Kreef and perlemoen ( abalone ) i dived myself, I also smoked my own snoek which I bought from fisherman in Houtbay or West Coast. Now i smoke Angel fish and mackerel for my smoored snoek which I love, also snoek spread etc. Thanks for this reminder of my home town and it’s customs.
3:20 as a coloured, lemme just course correct here. what makes the coloured race stand apart, is that we have our own struggles and challenges that are unique to us, and it has influenced our distinct culture, as with every other race in southern africa. now no race is a monolith, but i would say they can be grouped. black southern africans eat more than just pap. their culture and cuisine is distinct and unique
Thank you for this video!!! I feel so proud watching this. #coloredafrican

Coloured people in South Africa are similar to what is called Creole in other countries aka a huge mix of races. As a coloured I have white, black, Indian also Christian and Moslem family so we get to celebrate Christmas,Easter and Eid its awesome ❤🎉😊
Thank you for visiting SA. We love your content, hope to see again soon.
I already watched this, but I'm leaving this on in the background so Sonny gets his views 🤣
