His explination on his podcast he shares with a few other youtubers was he wanted to rewrite or repoplulate some of the things that have been forgotten or ignored. How he does it will likely be through video due to his general disgust with colleges. He currently has all his credits in his field but of course the college requires that underwater basket weaving credit because of money.

@@m2hmghb Probably no need to feel sorry for his teachers, every single one of my history profs encouraged it almost as much as the philosophy department did (even the blatant Francophile who managed to turn a course on early modern Europe into just early modern France). Several outright said it doesn't matter if they agreed with any of us or not, only whether we could support our arguments and actually cite a good variety of sources (especially if we took the time to consider any counterarguments and preemptively start to rebut them with additional evidence). At its core the profession is basically about two things: knowing how to find & process supporting evidence and knowing how to make an argument out of it.

I love fat electrician. He uses explitives as enhancers instead of just putting them in for their own sake. The interesting thing is I've started seeing history teachers react to his videos to provide context or corrections - and they don't get much opportunity to do so.

I was in the USAF almost 50 years ago. They showed us a film that had an F-4 (the frontline US fighter jet in the late 60's and early 70's) and an F-15 (just introduced) taking off at the same time. The F-15 got airborne first, went straight up, did a loop and did a simulated strafing run on the F-4 just as the F-4 was getting airborne. Plus, the F-15 carries a crap-ton of electronics and weapons. It's been the dominant air superiority fighter for the last 50 years.

I think I saw that same film at Commander's Call! I was at Mountain Home AFB with F-111Fs in 1972-1976, The F-35 is the latest version of the Jack of All Trades F-111 (slow and low and master of nothing). I SO wanted the F-15 but never saw one until after I served overseas (1976-77) at Naval Air Station Keflavik (F-4s) before special duty with the 1155th Technical Ops Squadron at McClellan AFB, Sacramento for my final two years, leaving in 1978. .

Nick (The Fat Electrician) is famous for researching stories most people don't talk about that are so unbelievable they should have movies made about them. These stories as unbelievable as they may seem are well researched and 100% true. Some I would recommend of his are "America Wipes out Half of Iran's Navy in 8 hrs" "World War Tree Operation Paul Bunyan" "Sergent Reckless Marines Warhorse" "Winter Soldier ODs on Meth and becomes unkillable". All amazing videos. You can't go wrong with T.F.E.

Yeah Israel use these a LOT! They are actually the prime reason the F-15 is still active and affective currently. While America has moved on to many more newer fighters, Israel wanted production to continue because its the basis of their Air force. So Israel has spent like the last two decades putting tremendous amounts of money into continuously upgrading the F-15. One of the few times that there was a true improvement and/or continuation of an American military plane almost solely because of an outside nation.

Hey there Jono. I worked on the F-15 for 10 years. I worked in Aircraft Recovery and Reclamation (ARR) where our main job was to go get a downed jet or respond to other emergencies (we were even trained to recover the space shuttle if they ever had to land at our base in NM), Phase Dock inspections (take panels off, inspect, fix, put panels back on), and worked on my own jet on the flightline (where the jets are parked). I have worked on each model, the A through the E Strike Eagle. The F-15 is the only jet that is able to do a short take off, go vertical, and keep accelerating. The pilot will black out before the engines ever give up. The plane missing the wing actually happened, but in reality, there was about 2 feet left of the wing. I've seen other things like that, and the Eagle still made it home. I've talked to pilots that had flown other jets, and said they will never go back to them after flying the Eagle. The one that shot down the satellite was actually on the base I was in NM. I got to work on it after the program ended. They ended it because we developed missiles that could do the job quicker. The missile it carried would actually do the most of the flying. The pilot was there to take off, the missiles program would take over, then after the launch, the pilot would land. That plane never stopped amazing me even after 10 years. You could even loose one engine, and still fly and fight! It's the best of the best! Little known fact, during the Gulf War, the Fighter Squadron I belonged to, the 336th Rocketeers, were the first planes dropping the first bombs in Baghdad. After that, we started calling ourselves "The Famous Rocketeers"! Lol. But you won't find that info on any other website.

Well, the F-4 isn't really an airplane. It's a jet engine with a seat on it. Lol. Those wings were so damn small, they were almost not there. Our nickname for the F-4 was the pig. It was dirty, oily, and they throw walnut shells in the intake to clean out the carbon. Lol. But, I loved my F-15. No better jet to work on.

As an American, nothing makes me feel more patriotic than watching foreigners in awe of our military equipment. I dont know why it does, especially when you consider that I feel like we could do so much more here at home resolving issues from healthcare to infrastructure, homelessness and more if we were to use even a small fraction of what we spend yearly on our military on these other issues that congress just can't justify allocating the funds to fix...incidentally, nobody in congress has to worry about any of those issues, as they're all independently wealthy.....and yet, here I am, practically bursting at the seams with national pride.🤷‍♂️

It is worth noting, I feel, that the "air-to-air bomb kill" in question was against a helicopter that was taking off and not moving very much across the ground, with a bomb that was laser-guided, so it's not quite as impressive as it might at first seem. This is still a remarkable feat, because homing or not, laser-guided bombs are neither designed nor intended to be used against targets that are changing elevation, and still would have required the weapon system officer (WSO or "wizzo") to know from memory the operational envelope of that bomb in order to effectively use it for an "off-label" purpose. As to the F-15EX Eagle II, this is technically a derivative of the F-15E Strike Eagle (itself a derivative of the F-15D Eagle), with new engines and new computers, and will replace the F-15C currently in use (the F-15Es currently out there have not hit the end of their life and will continue to serve for some time, although I believe the internals are different enough that they cannot be upgraded to the EX variant). It's sort of expected that it will likely be used as a "missile truck" to deploy long-range air-to-air missiles in order to augment the F-22 and F-35 (although it will still be a very capable dogfighter), which will be nice to see because the F-15's radar across all variants has _always_ outranged what its missiles were actually capable of reaching. If you enjoyed this presentation on the the F-15, you should look into the proposed F-15SE Silent Eagle, and upgraded F-15E that incorporated stealth design features (it was ultimately not accepted because, while it had lower observability compared to the classic F-15, it was not appreciably lower than other, newer fourth generations designs, and it did not have the very-low observability of the F-22 or F-35).

F-15 was made to counter the MiG-29 that supposedly went Mach 2.3 but later on it was a crappy Aircraft that fell apart even near high speed for an extended period of time and the unclassified speed of the F-15 is 2.5 but it is probably faster, especially the F-15EX. They are building the EX from the ground up.

Dude, you really should do more of his videos. Maybe just not with the kids if you are concerned about the swearing. Maybe with the son, just let him know it will happen.
