She is not cold. The way she stands means that she is showing respect to an elder/ or someone she is respecting at that point as she sings, in other words: she is humbling herself. Perhaps she is wish to show respect or humility to God as she sings praises, or perhaps she is humbling herself in front of her teachers because they are elders. We all remember how our body language indicates meaning within our cultures here in Africa. I could be wrong though but that is what I got when I saw the video.

London guy with Trinidadian parents here: I grew up around Nigerians, Jamaicans, Trinis, and Ghanaians, and we all do things in different ways, but from a very obvious shared root. We also make the best food in the world. We make amazing music that has spread all over the world. Can we sing? Sure. Do we sing in complex harmonies in a group of 100+ plus people when we're 13 years old like South Africans? Not usually. I agree. God has indeed blessed South Africans. I’ve said it for years. They are not ordinary people. Almost every last one has this voice and it touches the soul.
