I have always wanted to have my own sourdough starter, but I have always been so nervous about it since I heard horror stories, that they are difficult to work with, that is until my friend Kim, gave me this Alaska Sourdough Starter, and they had step-by-step instructions, so far it has been great to work with the starter, in this video I show you how to make the starter and how to feed it, I even made some sourdough blueberry muffins. stay tuned for episode 2 where I attempt to make my first loaf of sourdough bread, wish me luck.
Ingredients:
Crumbly Top:
1/2 cup flour
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/4 cup melted butter
Muffin Batter:
1 cup flour
pinch of salt
1/3 cup sugar
2 tsp baking powder
2 eggs
1/4 cup oil
1/4 cup milk
1 cup frozen blueberries (mixed in 1 tbsp flour)
Bake at 200 C for 25-35 min
