Agree with what most of Souness says. He's a great pundit. He has a thinking bias around Liverpool though. Arsenal have outplayed them in the last 5 games. They haven't always got the result but they have been the better team bar the second half at Anfield last season. They have won 2, drawn 2 and lost 1. Liverpool are there absolute maximum and big drop off is coming the next 3 months. I don't think either team will challenge city. They will pull away but if it's one it's Arsenal. The thing people were talking about them like Liverpool were just going to turn up and batter them. Now for whatever reason Liverpool didn't turn up at all, let alone turn up to batter someone. I love how every pundit keeps saying the Martinelli goal "changed the game" because it was a mistake from Alisson & van Dijk, yet say nothing about the Saliba defensive error that led to Liverpool getting a flukey equaliser against the run of play. The Martinelli goal did not "change the game" because we nullified them for 90 minutes & it hurts all these guys to admit it. They had one shot on target all game. Without Salah, they are nothing special this season. As for us, great win, but we need to keep this level of performance up. I still feel we need a lethal striker to put away the countless chances we create.

definiteley martinelli goal change the game because in the first 20 min of the second half livrpool wwere the beter team the most likley the game would end with a draw

if you can't see what Havertz was doing in that game then i can't take any of your football opinions seriously.

Arsenal last season were 5 points clear with same games played maximum and were only 8 points clear of City at a point but with them having game in hand last season. Arsenal at no point were 8 points or more clear with same games played. So Simon Jordan 12 points clear statement couldn't be further from the truth. City stuck around and Arsenal were at times level, 1-5 points clear. Only 8 points clear because of times of games with earlier kick off or with game delays (City had FA Cup fixtures). Liverpool were 5 points clear of Arsenal. So on paper same gap Arsenal had last season.

I am an ardent Liverpool supporter and a football purist at heart,but the gall to try and legislate how an opposing team must celebrate is beyond ridiculous to me,I can get it if it’s unsportsmanlike and distasteful,but cmon I saw nothing wrong with Arsenal celebrating. But then again,I am a bit of rebel,says who biaaach?!😏🤣GTFO!!!

Havertz was incredible. Regardless of the price, he was excellent and should get his flowers. Over the course of the season is yet to be seen.

Changing point was van dijk mistake? couldn't the same be said for Saliba/Raya mistake for the Liverpool goal.

Liverpool fans should feel flattered that Arteta and company celebrated the way they did. Liverpool is one of the top teams in the premier league, a team which has given Arsenal nightmares over the last few years. In those celebrations there is a release of all the pain and angst of how far they have come from a couple of seasons ago. They may not win the league but they arent the pushovers they used to be.

There is no team more dispised than Arsenal.....the unending bias against them is staggering. Pundits radio stations etc. But to be fair Danny murphy on Motd give excellent analysis. These guys deal in tropes.

he even got a police report and FA fine for literally taunting and provoking liverpool fans back in 2006 when ferdinand scored the winner at old trafford. and had the gall to say it was the highlight of his career and he would do it again a hundred times over.

Salty carra and Gnev had to throw away their scripts when Arsenal won and deflect about something else.

The hypocrisy is unmatched. Arteta is a genius he beat Pep's city twice this season, drew with Liverpool at Anfield, beat Klop at the Emirates, how can they ignore all the good work done by him 👏 👍

Of course Arsenal are in the title discussion. Doesnt mean they are going to win the league. And its because there are three top teams battling for the title right now. One out of those three should win the league. Those dismissing Arsenal would be wrong to do so.

The problem with it is, Souness is clearly bitter anout Neville and Carragher's sky takeover he reguarly snipes at them.

Watched the celebrations again and it wasn’t anything over the top, Carra and Neville let their bias show

I think the expectation of pundits to be unbiased doesn’t seem realistic anymore. Carra will obviously feel butthurt for losing, in the same way Micah celebrates with City wins or Roy’s Heavy criticism of United. It’s just the standard now.

60m for Havertz is a bargain if you ask me. Versitile, young and talented. Lets talk a couple of years later and see how he's doing.

I find it funny that everyone goes on about how much of a threat Liverpool’s attack is, and how Arsenal are not clinical enough… but when you look at the stats, Arsenal have only scored 4 less league goals than Liverpool and have the exact same defensive record. Same with everyone saying Arsenal are far worse than they were last season. But after 23 games they’re only 2 points off of last seasons points at this stage then. I think people are deluded to wright off Arsenal this season. Played Liverpool 3 times and city twice this season. They’ve only lost one of those games, won 3 and drawn away at Anfield.

They beat us ..why should they not celebrate like crazy...

How everyone highlights the mistake by van Dijk and Alisson as a game changing moment, but not the mistake by the Arsenal defense is telling. If it was not for that mistake, Liverpool would not have a chance to score, much less scoring itself. They didn't do anything to deserve anything.

As a Liverpool fan I say fair play to Arsenal for the win. They fully deserved it on the day and why not enjoy that win to the max? They not only beat one of the best teams in the world, but they kept their title winning hopes alive while they did it. That's cause for great celebration I think, so drink it in and enjoy it while it lasts. One caveat though, there is no point in playing out of your skin against the top sides, and then go away to a bottom or mid table team and drop points. Same message for Liverpool. The reason City will win the league again this year is that they simply do not do that, especially not in the second half of the season, they have proven that time and again. If you had offered me a top four spot and just one trophy at the start of this season i would have gladly taken it. It looks like we will get top four and at least one trophy but we cannot afford many more performances like this one against Arsenal that's for sure. YNWA \0/

I clearly remember last season when Klopp pulled a hamstring celebrating a 4-3 victory over Spurs. It was barely mentioned. Arsenal beat Liverpool convincingly and the celebration police are at it. The pundits are obviously bored.

We didnt bottle it. We succumbed to injuries to key players within a squad that relied on its first eleven to do the impossible. Saliba and Tommy getting injured in the same game for a europa game killed us. It would of been an achievement that eclipses Leicester City's unexpected title.

Exactly 😂... if arsenal beat City JUST ONCE last season they'd win the league. There was a 5pts gap between them so if Arsenal won at home vs City you take away 3pts from City's 89pts putting them on 86pts and you add 3pts to 84pts making it 87pts. Instead they lost twice to them making City the better team... to prove this even more Man City were the ONLY team to beat Arsenal TWICE last season better yet they were the ONLY team to get more than 3pts from Arsenal. The SAME year they won the champions league beating Bayern 4-1 and then Real Madrid 5-1 on the way 😂😂 How on earth is that bottling the league if they're the best team in the world, beating Arsenal twice and Arsenal being one different result away from winning the title. 😂😂
