Soundtracs JADE (pt 1) - we're getting an Analog Mixing Console
Музыка
Finally we are getting ourself a Soundtracs JADE, Analog Mixing Console that we have been dreaming about since 1994 when it came out. It took 2 days to move the console and this is from the last part when carrying the console up to our studio.
A big shout out to my friends helping us to move the console, without you we would not have been able to do this:
Hampus Wennberg
Eemil Rutanen

Congratulations on your Jade! Owning a Jade-S myself I would like to share the following advice: 1. Check the batteries on the DSP boards. Replace them and move them of the boards. If they start leaking they will ruin the desk 2. invest in a Blue Dog replacement power supply. Worth it in power saving alone and the old supply may have a bad bridge rectifier. And enjoy your console! I love working on the Jade and I'm sure you will too

Thanks for the advice - the battery change will be one of the first thing to take care of👍 Did you notice any difference in sound level from the fan, and the sound quality of audio by replacing it with the blue dog? Jade-S what an amazing console!!!😍😍
Keep the analog spirit alive! An interesting fact: “Leftism” by Leftfield was mixed on the Soundtracs Jade. Greetings!
Peace. Look into replacing that huge power supply with a Blue Dog power supply

Ha ha, i guess you have been carrying many many many JADE's in to your workshop over the years.😀👍 Is there a good way to do it or is every move a struggle and just a matter of muscles🤣🤣
Interesting, I learned working in a studio on a sparkly new Jade back in the beginning of the 90s (with an analog 2" tape machine). Interesting to see they are still around.

What a great console to learn recording on - they where state of the art at that period and few could afford them. Great console and i am so looking forward getting to know it! 😍

@@moneeo yeah it was amazing learning working on an inline desk on this model. I later rarely worked on inline desk, but that didn't matter that much. It was a great serious first desk.
hopefully it's in a good shape. i bought a used Harrison and it's a permanent work in progress. it's like having an oldtimer car, an expensive hobby.

Yes, it's a 30 year old vintage console so it really requires a lot of love, that i am so looking forward to start with.❤ All faders and crucial parts seems to be in great condition, but some of the pots are a bit scratchy and needs to be replaced, and that is something i was aware of when buying. I will be doing more videos of the process in the coming weeks!👍 Harrisons are totally amazing - what model is it?

Thanks! Have never worked on an Amek Big, but it looks great - is there something you are not happy with, that il3632 has?
