I can't lie, this wasn't completely unseasoned. I tasted some salt, pepper and dare I say a little garlic in this rendition of the song! The band held it down pretty well too! Seriously, I've been vibing to it since Kev posted this clip 😂 Lead singer had me perk my ears up when I heard her go "You can win chile!" She got a little soul in her! Edit: After a listening again a few times...she did say "Chil...D" instead of "Chile" the "D" at the end was hard to hear at first haha *I'm black and I went to Liberty University for 4 years on campus. All of the campus church services & Convocation services that I HAD to attend numbed me to white people doing less than soulful renditions of songs made famous by black singers 😂

Don’t worry everybody after this song which is probably the closing you can go home. This is not like an all day black church or event where that would have been the opening song to a long day. The real question is which one of the black chorus members suggested the song and they turned it in Bethany would be a good choice to sing lead when Kiana and Tunisia asked to sing lead on this song.

Noticed no one except Kev was clapping in time to the music. That song always stirs my spirit.

They actually sound good. However, the oomph is missing. The raw grit of understanding that through pain and turmoil you can lift your head up and win. People, regardless of ethnicity, have that oomph and It makes the difference between singing a song and telling the story.

Amen! When my Mom's church merged into a more progressive one, the first thing they did was add popular Christian songs, and not just sing hymnals. One of her friends was offended by that and left. Can you imagine how bland you have to be to be bothered by percussion?! 😒
