If I could sing like this I would never speak I would just sing everything I would ever say. I’m glad my childhood rock heroes are at peace now but I just wish we could have enjoyed them longer.

Me too .I'm so glad my husband bought tickets we saw SG at northern invasion. You could tell something dark was gonna happen .
Eerily beautiful and so sad, it's take a special person to write such songs and be a frontman, as talented and gorgeous as he was; his fears caught up with him. Any Soundgarden fan knows that, a lot of the songs are very dark lyrically, so clever and punctual some even with riddles, what a brilliant man he was...miss him dearly.
It takes something special to be able to make this song work on just acoustic and bass and sound this technically good.
Yo seriously? I’m 43. I used to listen to this in college and not think anything of it. And now, in some very real ways, I’m living the very words this man is speaking. Chris, you are missed my man. Gone too soon like so many greats.

This may sound void of empathy, and perhaps it is because I am autistic, but I like to consider how many lives Chris saved by taking his. How many people changed their mind and decided to stick around because his death made them feel something again, even if it hurt. Or how many people saw the fallout of his death and decided they didn’t want their loved ones to experience the same. I have a very oriental view of self conclusion. I believe humans should have the right to do so with dignity and pain free. I believe a meteoric suicide like his is essential from time to time, it replenishes the rest of us aching souls.
The 90s will always have my heart

Wow, just amazing, Chris. Thank you for being so cool and understanding to me when you knew you had your darkest time, minutes away. Forgive me for not being more perceptive, I didnt want to impose, you seemed tired and maybe you were. I'll regret that for the rest of my life. Someone once said we should never meet our heroes because we will only be disappointed. Well, whoever said that didn't have you or your fans as an example. Your talent, lyrics, voice, musicianship and melodies are what I imagine many, many, many musicians and myself aspire to. I hope you are in a better, safer place now. it may be better to burn out, than to fade away. But you will always Outshine the dark times and your music has and will help many people through their darkest time, perhaps, even as dark as you have experienced.

Kustom Hooligans yeah I can articulate what Cornell meant to me..but I did have the pleasure of meeting him twice...i was 17 in 08 and he toured in atl..there was a meet and greet and I was the 1st person in line waiting 3 hours to see him, when he arrived I was more than fn pumped up.. I saw him come up to the booth sit and down a red bull. I approached the booth with my merchandise smile real giddy shake his hand and say "Your a badass" he just smiled back politely and say "Thanks kids" as he signed my stuff as my brother snapped pics of us.The second time I got to meet him,I conned my way into to 'premium VIP line' and took a standing picture with him...my soul will forever be missing a gap where he filled with his music.i will tell you this, meeting my idol those days was everything I could imagine and more...his artistry pulled me from the brink more times than I'd like to admit..have a good one man

indeed, makes me so sad to hear his voice now :(
Prophetic. So sad. I was listening to this on satellite radio today and the line, “sun spots fading” made me realize for the first time … and what’s so incredibly tragic is that he glimpsed good days before he had to begin, “doing time” inevitably again. As I get older, Chris, I understand more and more what you meant and why you’re gone. Depression is real, folks. Think about it. Neither Good looks, extreme talent, money, fame, the respect of your peers, or a freakin daughter in your life could relieve the pain. You live on for so many others for so much longer than you would of - way past your sell by date, your still carrying that miserable, dark voice in your head that whispers constantly to just quit. It’s as serious as malignant cancer. Hopefully now it has lost its stigma enough that people will try to get help enough to carry them through the black days.

People will always look for happiness. True joy can only be found in a life filled from Jesus.. He came to this earth to die for us and defeat evil. Every day comes with new struggles but we will someday be with him living forever where there is no pain or hurt. Get on your knees everyday and thank god for everything you have. He will give you the strength to finish the race
